Creative Scrapbooker's VIP Club

Welcome to Part 5 of a 10-part series called Where We Scrap, where our bloggers share their scrap space with you.  This week, Jodi Wilton is sharing her space.

Hi everyone! Today I am going to give you a glimpse of my small scrapbook room (or closet like room!)  I am fortunate enough to have a space to myself, which wasn’t always the case! As my love for the hobby grew, so did my scrapbook supplies, and what was once an office, slowly turned into a complete scrappy space for me.  The room is very small (7 X 8 feet at the most!) but I have tried to make the most of the space I have.

I have literally occupied as much wall space that I can. If I knew that this was going to be a scrapbook space when I moved in, I think I would have painted it a nice bright colour, but now I can’t imagine taking everything out just to paint, so I have added bright curtains and accessories to make up for the lack of colour.

On the other side of the room I have more shelving-  a place to put all my inks, sprays, embossing powers and paints  (I think I might need another one!) The basket on the shelf is used for me to go shopping in my room! A lot of the time I don’t scrap in my room- you may find me in my bedroom, at the kitchen table, or in our family room so this is my way of bringing everything to my scrapping spot.

Next is my paper storage:

You may notice I have empty slots!  Having such a small room I try to purge as frequently as I can in order to make room for new goodies, or maybe to have an excuse that I need more scrapbooking paper!  I have a peg board on top, as well as above my desk. I love being able to see what I can use. I find that this method works great, because if I can’t see it, I usually forget about it.

At the end of the room I have this organizer which I keep all my punches, spellbinders, embossing folder etc….  It also has some supplies to start up my Project Life this year.  The two crates are my “kits” that I make up. They have photos in each bag, sketches, colour inspiration, design team assignments etc..  whatever I need to complete a project. I usually make a few of these at one time, that way if I am going to crop I have everything put together already.

As every obsessed scrapbooker knows, this hobby is an ever growing hobby, so lately my scrapbooking room has been “spilling” out of the designated room.   Outside in the hall I have started to takeover some more shelving- which is filled with Bella Blvd goodies in the bottom, and card making supplies in the top.  The two bigger baskets are filled with some stamps.  I am hoping one day to paint this too! The wheelie plastic cart, are my kids scrapbooking supplies. I keep this on hand for them so they can raid it anytime.

Finally we have two built in cupboards that I share with my daycare craft supplies as well as more random supplies for scrapbooking. Shamefully, they are not that neat, but love that I have this built in storage

So even though my space is small, I can still fit a lot of scrappy goodness in it!  I hoped you have enjoyed my tour of space!

Nice room, Jodi. The little rooms do take lots of organization to fit things. I have a small one that I am working on.:)

KimR- I got the We R Memory Keepers Albums as a Christmas Present from my daycare parents! I LOVE them! The colours on my shelf are: Kiwi, Aqua, and Navy.

  7. Love those bright yellow curtains. You look like you’ve capitalized on every bit of space you have in that small room

  8. Thanks for sharing Jodi! I am in the middle of re-doing my scrap room as it is overflowing and I mean literally into other rooms! I have a paper addiction 🙂 Seeing storage solutions helps!

  10. This is such an organized space, I love it…I am about to tackle my craft room, so thanks so much for the tips!

  11. Amazing use of space, Jodi! The first thing I loved was the bight, cheery feel to the room (love the yellow curtains). The shallow shelf for your inks and sprays are fab.~ like you said everything is visable yet organized. The paper racks are great too. Where would a person buy these paper racks? Oh, and the pegboard…brilliant! Thank you so much for sharing your amazing, big, little space. I love it! 🙂
