Today we are going to visit a neighbour from the south. I LOVE that we are finding new friends all over the globe and think it’s important to welcome them with open arms! Let’s give a great, big Canadian HELLO {eh?} to Heather Thompson! Off we go to Bloomer {love the name!}, Wisconsin to check out her great craft room! May I just add that ANY husband that thinks their wife’s craft room is TOO SMALL is a keeper! {just sayin!}
My name is Heather Thompson. I am a RN by night and a mother by day. I am a mother of two young children; Maksim – my 4 year old, little guy and Olivia – my very creative 5 year old. We live in Bloomer, Wisconsin in an old farm house.
I finally got my room now that the kids are old enough to sleep upstairs. I inherited their old room. These are the colors that Maksim chose when it was his room. I couldn’t wait to get in there, so I never repainted it.
It has lots of closet space for all of their albums and books.
Recently we had to add a space for Olivia. She has a tendency to overtake my table, so she ended up getting her own. The picture with the little stool is her creative space. I used their old crib rails as wall mounts for shelving. I tend to find all the shelves at vintage sales.
My desk sits perfectly in front of the window where I can watch the kiddos when they are outside. I love the fact that I can see most of my supplies and I don’t have to dig too much for something I want to use.
I use every nook and cranny in this room. I even use the closet under the stairs. I love this room and spend some time in there almost every day. Maksim loves to use the Big Shot and Olivia just loves to use it all. I have scraped many memories in that room.
Thank you for all the wonderful articles from “Where you Create”. They give me some ideas on how and what I should do next to make my room better. (My husband says it is too small) Keep them coming I enjoy the reading!
