Here it is Friday again, why do they come around so fast in the summer? Hopefully our readers who have been on flood watch in Manitoba or weathered through Hurricane Arthur in the Maritimes are soon back to “routine as usual”. I am always in awe of Mother Nature and her powers, may everyone enjoy a safe summer!
Today we get to take a peek at Stacey Haniff’s colourful “sanctuary”. Lots of great storage ideas to be shared…a place for everything!
I have just finished a renovation project on my scrapbook room and wanted to share my creation. The room has received a complete overhaul for a relatively minimal cost.
Things I have changed:
~ The carpet was replaced with low cost laminate flooring.
~ The walls were updated with a fun, vibrant colour.
~ I re purposed furniture – or example the dresser you see was in my son’s room [damaged] I repaired and refinished plus added a wonderfully functional piece of glass to the top for a total refinish cost of only $55!
~ I already owned one of the desk tops, and bought a second from Ikea for only $29. The legs were removed from the desk I owned and both desks attached directly to the wall. The other side attached to a 2×4 expedite unit, turned on its side.
~ I added turquoise doors to some of the expedite squares (on clearance at Ikea for only $10ea).
~ I created my punch wall using kitchen storage towel/utensil bards from Ikea for a cost of only $3.99 ea. I absolutely love that I can see exactly what I own while I create.
~ My scrap paper storage consists of old magazine cases with a little scrap card stock added to the front.
I am absolutely thrilled with how the room turned out and am excited each and every time I have the opportunity to enter my own personal little sanctuary. The best part; it is exactly enough space for two so I can enjoy the company of my children and/or scrappy friends.
Hope you enjoy the pictures and have a fabulous day!
Stacey
