A huge hello to everyone out there in the paper crafting world!
I was absolutely delighted to be invited as a guest blogger, featuring Magenta Style products.
A little about me: I live in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, a mom of 20 yr old twins (girl & boy), married for nearly 23 years, a Registered Nurse going on 29 years and yes, I am addicted to anything and everything in the paper crafting world!
I’ve been crafty throughout my entire life in one way or another but was not introduced to scrapbooking until 2006. It took one home party to get me craving for more.
Scrapbooking turned into card making which turned into mix media, home décor, etc, etc.
I am not a routine person, and I tend to get bored easily so paper crafting for me is the PERFECT right brain activity. The moment I find myself “bored” I switch up what I’m doing including what products and tools I use.
In 2010, I took the plunge and opened my own store on Main Street as well as an on-line store. I loved all the challenges that came from being an entrepreneur, however, last year I had to make a difficult decision as I found I was only skimming the surface on everything I was doing but not able to give 100% to any one thing (family, work as a RN or running a business). So I closed the business and concentrated on developing my own artistic abilities and sharing those abilities through my own website, all forms of social media and with companies that fit with my style.
Today I’m please to highlight projects featuring Magenta Style products. Magenta has a vast variety of products the majority being stamps. Their stamps can be wood mounted or cling and are made with a high quality rubber. By far this company has the BEST selection of what I describe as “nature” stamps in any that I’ve dealt with, and it is those stamps in particular I will be showing. By nature I’m speaking of greenery, birds, flowers, etc. They also have very cool word stamps and offer these in both English and French!
Project 1:
These cards were created using Alcohol Inks and Magenta Stamps
Project 2:
This is a 6×8” flat mix media canvas and was created by using Magenta paper, stencils (Brick & Bird), stamps (Greens, Flowers, Words) and water color pencils and crayons as well as some modelling paste.
Project 3:
My preferred style is distressed, vintage, shabby chic. However because I do bore easily, I step outside that box from time to time and challenge myself with “cleaner” looks.
These cards are done using all Magenta Style Stamps and Tim Holtz Water Colour Markers
Project 4:
This last project is a Single Page lay-out that features Magenta Style Paper, Stamps and Stencils.
