Today on our blog we welcome Kristine Davidson, a scrapbooker and sketch artist who is on the Simple Stories Design Team!

Hello Friends, my name is Kristine Davidson. I am on the East Coast in New Brunswick, and hopefully when you read this, the snow will have melted! I’ve been married for 14 years and have 2 cats named Archie and Willie who keep me busy removing cat hair from my glue dots!  I work full-time as a sales and service agent for an airline company and love to spend my spare time being creative.

I’ve always been interested in arts and crafts since I was a young girl. I’ve cross stitched, made candles, lampshades, tole painting and scrapbooking has been my passion for several years. I’ve been an avid scrapbooker since 2008 and am completely addicted to pop dots and die cuts! I don’t think I’ve ever created a page and not added some form of die cut!

Here is a page I created using several die cuts. I often cut out pieces of paper to make my own! It adds such great dimension to any scrapbook page or card!

I’m the founder of a scrapbook sketch site called Creative Scrappers. It’s a place where you can get tons of ideas and inspiration from great design team members. I’ve been creating with sketches since April 2008 and also published 3 sketchbooks to help you when you need ideas! Here is a sample of one of my sketches.

I am currently a design team member for Jillibean Soup and Simple Stories. I am blessed to be working for such amazing companies. They are all generous, supportive and create some awesome products!

Here are two layouts I’ve created especially for this blog post-

The first one is of my nephew, enjoying a little nap on the couch after such an exhausting day of playing with toys! I used the new Simple Stories Say Cheese II Collection, and of course you’ll find tons of my favorite embellishments!

I love using Silhouette cut files. Here I created my own cut file to make creating that unique background with 2″x1.5″ squares. So easy to do and so fun!

This second layout is one I created of myself, again using the new Simple Stories I AM Collection. It’s a wonderful collection to scrapbook about YOU! We all need a few pages of ourselves and this collection is perfect for that – a must have in your stash!

As you can see I love layers. I love using scraps of paper or pieces cut out from 3×4″ cards. Here I cut out some feathers, and added pop dots under my picture to create a bit of dimension.

I love attending crops with my girlfriends and one day they told me, I sing my page titles! I was talking out loud and saying something like ” he’s Just a Little Shy … on a bad note!” and called my layout Just A Little Shy! It seems like it’s something I have to do before I put my final stamp on a page!

I have a habit of creating layouts using grids or straight lines. I rarely use odd shapes or have my photos tipped sideways. It’s just not me. Creating layouts using grids makes it easy for me. It’s quick, I can use multiple pieces of paper and usually 1 or 2 photos.

Here is one I created using the Grid format. I used 2″x2″ pieces of patterned paper, die cuts, and one photo of my aunt and I enjoying each other’s company this past summer. I love that her eyeglasses match the paper !

I scrapbook because it helps me unwind or relax after a crazy day. I scrapbook because it is enjoyable. I scrapbook because it allows me to document those special moments with friends and family. I scrapbook because I love the smell of fresh patterned paper! You know what I mean, right?!

That’s me in a blog post! Oh yeah, I also love Ice Cream, Sunsets and Driving like a Maniac! I don’t like white socks with black shoes, raw onions or radishes!

If you care to join me on social media, you can find me on my blog http://KristineDavidson.com, on Instagram with user name @KristineDavidson and on Pinterest with user name @Kristinedd

Thank you Canadian Scrapbooker for allowing me to showcase my work here today and I look forward to creating more pages and many years of documenting memories!

Thanks so much, Kristine, for sharing your fantastic projects with us!  We LOVE your style!
