Happy Easter to those celebrating! Easter is always a sure sign of spring, even when it comes as early as this year. I hope everyone plans to enjoy their long weekend, and gets to spend time with friends and family! Though your days may be busy with entertaining and Easter commitments, please take a few minutes to enjoy Terrie Moar’s wonderful creative space!

I am a mother of 4 and grandmother of 5. Now that all of my children are in their own homes, I have a room for myself to scrapbook, craft and make cards. We renovated our home in 2014 and my craft room was the second room to be done. I LOVE IT!!! It’s about 10 x 17 and every space is used to its maximum.

I love having the tall table in the middle of the room. I can stand or sit. I have a chair with a back support that it swivels when I choose to sit. I never have to walk more than a few steps to access my supplies or put them away. The Ikea shelving with the colored doors, holds most of my supplies.

LOVE this organized space! The ribbon holder fits perfectly beside the Ikea shelf!

The closet worked out to be a great space for all my paper. I am told; the shelf it sits on is strong enough to hold a car! The closet shelf was put in so that I could slide my wheeled storage units underneath. I have spot lights above every shelf which adds some ambient light as well as being practical.

Love that Terrie has her papers out where they can be seen and easily used.

All this shelving would be a dream come true for many!

The desk in front of the window goes across the entire wall. It holds my printer and wide format printer.

I’m thinking this window provides some wonderful daytime light!

Crafting is so much easier, efficient and rewarding when everything is at your fingertips. I am so thankful to have such a wonderful place to enjoy my hobbies.  When I go into my craft room I appreciate all the good things in my life.

PS: After my room was completed, my husband said he would like a room like mine in the basement. My response was NO WAY! You are not going to the basement! We fixed up the other spare bedroom across from my craft room; he now has his own “Man Cave” where he can happily create his fishing lures whilst I scrapbook. And!!!…we can still talk and laugh together.

Life is Good!!!!

Thanks Glenda, I really am lucky. It took 34 years to get it but it was well worth the wait. Hubby and I did alot of research to make sure we chose usable furniture etc. We have an awesome friend who custom built the shelves to fit the room and to fit my organization needs.

Looks like a wonderful space to create. I have thought of converting my space to accommodate a stand up desk. I feel I do too much sitting sometimes. Your photo’s have convinced me to go ahead. Enjoy your room!

  4. Love everything about this!!! Expedit is the best furniture item ever invented. Your colour scheme is amazing.

Nice crafting space! Looks like a lovely place to enjoy your time.

  6. It’s wonderful… What are the clear containers stacked on the coloured door shelves? What do you have stored in these?

Lori, I really do like the option of standing or sitting. The tall table is so handy. the other nice thing about it is that you can actually store things under your table. I now have a 7 shelf wooden rolling cart that holds 7 (12×12) iris boxes under the table. You never can have enough storage spaces!!

Thanks Kim! My husband thought it was strange to go with white walls but I wanted a neutral palette so I could do the splashes of color. It turned out just the way I wanted it to. I love Ikea furniture!

Pam the clear containers are old lazer disc boxes. Libraries and movie rental places used them to store lazer discs. I’ve organized my paper scraps – one pile is separated into all the plain colors, another shelf is patterned paper. Then I separated all my flowers into colors as I use alot of flowers in my scrapbooking. Another shelf has embellishments organized by color as well as a shelf organized by theme. Its so handy!! I used small cd holders and lined them with magnetic sheets (cut them of course) and organized my metal dies. It really made them more accessible.
