Here we are…October! The seasons have most definitely changed. Though it saddens me that winter follows so quickly, I adore this time of year…the colours, the crispness of the air, cozy sweaters and scarves; not to mention Thanksgiving and Halloween! Embrace this awesome month and spend some time creating!
This week we are in Candace Bernier’s craft room. A gorgeous space in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan!
I love your magazine; every time I see it in the drugstore I grab a copy! I hosted a wedding shower a while back and cleaned my scrapbook room from top to bottom; invariably a guest would want to see it.
We built our house several years ago. I was lucky enough to be able to customize a room to suit my scrapbooking and painting needs. My favourite part is the two big windows; which let in so much natural light. The wall unit was custom built, as was the desk.
The big pull-out on the right hand side of the desk is awesome, perfect for having papers always at hand. I bought a sock drawer divider unit to store grommets and bits and pieces in the drawer to the left.
I use the wall unit to store patterned paper [by colour], ribbons, ink and flowers. The little table to the right of my desk folds down, but it’s usually up all the time as I put the computer there.
I had the contractor put extra shelves in the closet so I could use it to store pictures, albums, etc.
The standing pull out drawer and wire rack are all moveable so I can roll them over to the desk if I need them closer.
I love that everything has a place. I can close up the doors and everything is neat and tidy; which is important because the room has a day bed and can double as a guest room. I love my room’s functionality, I treasure being able to create in it and enjoy past memories through my scrapping.

Love the craft space, I envy people who have a space to create, my area is in the living room on the coffee table, with tubs and tubs of stuff all around the room, now starting to seep into the kitchen area and beyond. aaahhhhhh!!!!!!
