Faux Watercolour Loveliness and Pigment Ink

Oh, the wonders, versatility and unending twisted ways I can play with pigment ink. I am sharing with you an altered page that is a “jump off” from a class that I taught at CHA in Anaheim in the Clearsnap booth. The class was presented as a shape card but of course what was most important was “not the project” but the ideas and the techniques we used to take white cardstock and turn it into something “marvelous”.

Yes, this was white cardstock when I began and those lovely, wispy, very watercolor looking branches in the background have been stamped with ColorBox, pigment ink by Clearsnap. Yes, I am combining my pigment ink with “Top Boss” clear embossing ink so the stamped images have that “watercolor feel”. At times as I am creating this look it is almost like I am erasing the image …. pushing it into the background to give the whole page … whole card …. or whole scrapbook page an ethereal feel. There are so many ways to make pigment ink “multi-task” that I believe I will be able to come up with new ideas, new techniques and new looks for another 30 odd years. I am totally creating “multi-medium looks” with minimal, fabulous products that simply love to multi-task. Now that is getting the best “bang for your stamp buck”.

There are a variety of ways to achieve watercolor looks using pigment inks. This is just one of them, I even have one that actually uses water! I’ve included a photo of the products and applicators from Clearsnap that I used to create this “You – Be – Be You Tiful” page. The other thing you should know is that there are “no” markers involved in the creation of this page. Everything has been done using stamp pads including the detail coloring with in the “Fair Maiden” fern image. When you have the right ink and the right applicator, well, your “stamp life” is just “so good”.

The stamps are all from “Impression Obsession” a rubber stamp company that is devoted to bringing to you the very best in rubberstamps in the top 3 formats: the traditional wood block, rubberstamp, rubber stamps in cling format and in gorgeous sets of clear polymer rubberstamps. They truly have something for everyone in every theme you could possibly stamp.

Happy Stamping Everyone

absolutely stunning, must try this technique. My mother is a water colour artist so if I could create something like your card using ink, she would be very impressed. thanks.
