It’s that time of year again — time for my annual trip to IKEA to get dorm appropriate stuff for “the kid”…. And, if I’m perfectly honest, it becomes more in an inspiration station for me!
Wondering around the store I came across a little bin with some paper frames shaped as buildings in them. The GLON set was meant to be coloured with markers… but I had other plans for them!! …and I dug out “the kid’s” grade 12 picture to show you!

Instructions
- Attached the Gel Printed or Patterned Paper to the frame with the Collage Medium. Let it dry completely and then ink the edges with the Walnut Ink, and with the Umber Paint, shade the apples in the tree!
- Paint the chipboard hearts with the Ruby Paint and attach the roman numerals to the largest heart.
- Mount the canvas piece to the frame and then attach the hearts as shown. Don’t forget your picture!!
I thought these were perfect for those back to school photos all the kids are taking right now!! Hope it inspires you to create one too!
