Being asked to join Jackie at Ranger’s CHA media release was pretty exciting until my alarm went off so early that morning. Tired eyes were soon open with excitement at all the fabulous new releases being shared at Ranger’s booth. They had four stations set up, and we got to spend about 20 minutes at each one with Ranger’s Signature Designers; Tim Holtz, Dina Wakley, Dyan Reaveley and Susan Lenart Kazmer…pretty easy to get just a tad star struck! Each proved to be down to earth and all had a wonderful sense of humour…made you love them that much more!
First up was Tim Holtz. Lots of buzz at his table with the release of his Oxide Ink Pads, new Distress Crayons sets, Crayon Tin storage, 1 oz. size of Collage Medium, storage jars and Woodgrain Cardstock.
The new Oxide Ink Pads are the next generation of Distress Inks, combining water-reactive dye ink with pigment ink. The results when sprayed with water are amazing.
Look at the rainbow of colours now available in Distress Crayons – gorgeous! Sets #6, #7 and sage will be available in open stock; making it so easy to replace your favourite colours!
Next we made our way to Dina Wakley’s table; a mixed media artist’s dream. So many samples of amazing colourful art to awake inspiration!
Dina Wakley has a new Media Journal out that is to die for! It is home to multiple surfaces – burlap, canvas, cotton rag watercolour paper and kraft surfaces…all blank and ready for mixed media play! It is seriously yummy!
We were also really impressed with her new Media Scribble Sticks! These high-quality pigment sticks play like a crayon but are water soluble. Creating backgrounds and blending colours is going to get interesting! Scribble over acrylic paints and other media for extra dimension! The colours are so vibrant and coordinate with Dina Wakley’s palette of colour.
Look for some great new stamps, brushes and media tools from her line as well…2017 is going to get FUN!
Off to the next table we go, where we find the oh so talented and funny Dyan Reaveley. Her energy is contagious as she shares all kinds of fun, new products in her Dylusions line…and there are many!
Dyan has two new quality journals available. Her Creative Flip Journal which is designed to let you easy create vertically or horizontally, and comes in two sizes.
The second is the wonderful Creative Dyary. It’s a combination of weekly planning and art journaling for those who don’t want a stark, white daily planner! There are no dates! Simply Monday – Sunday on the left side and a colourful page of lovely to play on to the right! Fill your journal with your art or add in all the lovely Creative Dyary products available: stickers, die cuts, Dyary Tape, Stick Its, Dyary Stamps…so many things…so much fun!
Need to do some scribbles of journaling? You will LOVE the new Dylusions Paint Pens, especially if you have used the black and white ones already. These fine, point paint pens come in a package of fun colours!
Our last table found us with Susan Lenart Kazmer…her jewelry art is spectacular!
Susan’s jewelry combines so many interesting components, from tissue papers, leathers, and glass shards to name a few. The common denominator is the use of Ice Resin. At first I thought it was interesting to see, but not really something I would use in scrapbooking. The more I watched and listened, the more intrigued I was.
I am not a jewelry maker, but there is lots of opportunity to make some amazing embellishments with these products as well as using it on tissues papers to create beautiful, transparent or translucent, stiff papers to work with! It just might be something to dabble in in 2017!
Thanks for joining me on this wonderful booth tour and LONG blog post! I have only touched on some of the highlights of Ranger’s new releases! There are so many more! New colours of your favourite Archival Inks, Stickles, Enamel Accents, Vintaj Patinas, Media paints, stamps…the list is endless! Be sure to look for them at your local scrapbooking stores and let Ranger know how much you LOVE them!
By the way…did we mention how much fun we had?
