Hello everyone – Cathy Caines here
I think by playing with ice cream and popsicle stamps, I can convince myself that it’s Summer outside my froze bitten window. Oh yes, the calendar tells me it’s Spring and that silly Shuebenacadie Sam groundhog supposedly saw his shadow but it couldn’t be farther from the truth on the East Coast of Canada. Perhaps it’s time for that guy to get some glasses.
I spent a great deal of time stamping different colour combinations and putting together a number of die cuts using the Cool Treats stamp and die cuts. It’s the way I roll. It wasn’t until I truly thought about my favourite ice cream that I found the perfect fit. Mint Chocolate Chip! The delicate white doilies are a perfect way to accent the card as it looks like the little wrappers that sometimes comes on the ice cream cones.
While, I may love a one scoop ice cream, my daughter is of the other extreme. In fact, my son loves one scoop of vanilla ice cream in a bowl with the cone perfectly placed upsize down on the top. My Jane loves trying multiple favours piled high up. They mix and drip and mash all over the place. She takes a bite of mine and then back to hers. It’s a scene. Jane would love this ice cream… and if I ever see Summer again I will be glad to take her down to Moo Moos Ice Cream in St. John’s, Newfoundland to pile on the scoops. Better yet, I should just book a flight South.
That same night, I had another design team project for a collaboration of past and present Stampin’ Up! Artisans called Fancy Friday. I created a couple more cards from the same Cool Treats bundle. As always, I love the simple and basic card best. I guess, it’s a feeling similar to only needing the one scoop of sweet ice cream. Like Mr. Jack, I would stay on the vanilla side as well. Make sure to pop by to my In the Cat Cave blog in order to see how to create these cards.
Thanks again for dropping by!! I’d love to hear what YOUR favourite ice cream is!! Do tell!
Until next month,
Cathy

Peppermint, I have been obsessesd with it since I was a little girl! I had to have it when I was pregnant with daughter #1, so then husband got hooked on it. And because it was in the freezer whenever it was available, peppermint is both my girls’ favorite ice cream as well!
