Instructions
Step 1: Cover the Blending Palette from the Blending Kit with ink from the Dual Brush Pen in 555-Aquamarine. Place the palette face down onto the watercolor paper, then lift.Step 2: Dry off the palette with a paper towel. Repeat step 1 to cover the entire piece of watercolor paper. Do this quickly to avoid the splash from drying. If it does dry, just spritz on a little water with the mister to moisten.Step 3: Immediately sprinkle on uncooked rice onto the still wet paper.Step 4: Let dry and brush off the rice. The resulting decorative paper can be used for a scrapbooking page or cut up for card panels.Step 5: Cut the finished paper into 4 in. x 5 in. panels. These panels can vary greatly depending on how much color you added to the palette, how much rice you sprinkled on, or the type of paper being used. If you are not happy with your results, repeat all the steps with the same piece of paper and create a layered appearance.Step 6: Use the brush tip or fine tip of the Dual Brush Pen to add lettering to the watercolor paper panels. To make the lettering fade as you write, add the ink to the palette and pick up the color using the Dual Brush Pen Colorless Blender Pen. As you write, the lettering will slowly fade. Use the same steps to create faded lettering with the fine tip. For longer sayings with the fine tip, write with the Dual Brush Pen for half of the saying, and then use the faded lettering technique for the second half. This prevents you from fading to nothing before your saying is finished.Step 7: For the ripped edge on the word panels, simply rip the paper toward you along the lettering. Use the Ultramarine Dual Brush Pen to color along the ripped edge. Blend this edge with the Colorless Blender Pen.Step 8: Adhere the decorative cloud splash panel, word panel and backing panel onto a blank white card using the Tombow Xtreme Adhesive Runner. Remember when using this runner that you should swipe to the side before lifting. The ultra-strong nature of this adhesive adheres the heavy watercolor panels down flat and firmly.
