This week I was able to find a bit of time to “play” in my craft room. It really is a space in my home that makes me happy. Sometimes after a busy day, I’ll just go in, sit and shuffle through my supplies. I can feel the stress of the day slowly melt away, the shuffling, touching and doodling have become an important part of my creative process. For most of my adult life, I have been fortunate enough to have a corner or room dedicated to crafting.
This week Susan Sturgis is letting us peek into her craft room. I can only imagine her delight at having a dedicated scrapbooking space after raising eight [8!] children!
An extra room!
For the first time in my married life, I have an extra room. I am the mother of eight, wonderful children who have occupied all the bedrooms until April this year. My daughter moved into her own apartment and I took over her old room as my scrapbooking area. My husband built me a wonderful cabinet/desk based on the Workbox idea. I turned an old dresser into drawers for the supplies I don’t use on a regular basis and the top is more room to spread out while creating scrapbook pages. It seems like no matter how much horizontal space I have, I will fill it up while scrapping! I left it as it really is; messy, but happy…full of pages to make and enjoy.
Thank you so much Susan for sharing your story! I am certain with 8 kids you’ll be scrapbooking for years to come! ENJOY your space!
Your assignment is …. if you choose to accept.
