Each and every week, we look back in time and remember the beautiful art of our late friend and colleague Christy Riopel.
Christy’s designs are timeless. So many of her creations from way back when continue to inspire us today. This week we are looking back to the Winter 2016 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine. This was the last article that Christy wrote for our magazine. Christy was probably one of the most organized people I knew. She had her articles ready to go at the beginning of August and shortly after passed away. We ran her article and then decided to retire it in her honor.
This Tool Junkie article was all about using Creative Memories border punches. Here is the last project that Christy designed in her beautiful creative life. It will always be a very special layout for me.
Christy used the grass border punch on the stripes of patterned paper before making them into medallions to make the embellishments on this page. Happy Scrapbooking Everyone!
In loving memory of Christy Riopel – we continue to raise money for the Christy Riopel Art Scholarship. To date – one scholarship has been given through The Boys & Girls Club of Calgary. This warms my heart knowing that Christy continues to spread gentle, caring and inspiring love through art in our world. Thank you so much to everyone who donates. We appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts.
