Today I’m sharing my layout, inspired by our March Sketchy Challenge. Sketches are always a great place to start your creative process…it’s almost like oil for the cogs of your creative brain.I like to flip and rotate sketches to see all the different ways I can play with it. As you see by my finished layout I opted to rotate counter clockwise. My large block became two photos to fill a similar space and my two small squares became a 4×6 photo with a small inset photo. Let your brain work with the spaces of the sketch but be open to mix it up! You’ll be amazed at how many ways one sketch can unfold differently on several layouts! Here are some of the supplies I pulled out to work with! I chose to play with the Creative Memories Secret Garden collection including their paper and stickers. This collection is…

Hello and happy Tuesday! It is Jayme Loge here hoping all you Creative Scrapbookers are having a lovely morning with some signs of spring. Where I live, we’ve been buried under an endless ‘polar vortex’. While it has meant a lot of time indoors for scrapbooking I am totally craving some outdoor life! It was a good opportunity to tackle some of the photographs in my ‘to be scrapbooked’ folder. My usual process is to start with a photograph and find paper and embellishments to suit, but I had the lovely Wild Whisper Designs “Farmhouse” paper pack that was just calling. I ended up choosing two pictures of my daughter, Avery, taken about 11 years apart! And both featured the great outdoors, so I could at least revel in the memory of it… I first scrapbooked the more recent picture. I like to wait until the school year is over…

Good Morning and WELCOME March! It sure doesn’t feel like spring is around the corner but we have turned the page on February and that’s enough for me! Head’s up…today’s project share is not very spring like either! I choose to work with our January Sketchy Challenge and some fun products I have in my stash, old & new! If you prefer to share on Facebook, we have a Sketchy Challenge Group you are welcome to join! I stayed pretty true to the sketch, with the diagonal stack of photos and snowflake embellishments, then I let intuition guide the placement of my title and other embellishments. Carta Bella’s “Let it Snow” collection was perfect for my snowy pictures. I used the papers to mat my layout and pictures. They add the perfect amount of contrast and interest to my white Bazzill cardstock base. The Carta Bella stickers, chipboard and enamel dots…
Like most vacation days, we took a lot of pictures that day. So many memories crammed into one afternoon. The island was so beautiful, how could we not? But when I go back and look at all the beautiful photos, I feel overwhelmed. These are the photos that I never want to scrapbook. It’s a daunting task. But I figured it out. At least, what works for me. Maybe it will work for you too. I choose ONE photo that I love and print it in oversize. I write some journaling about the whole day in Microsoft Word or Adobe Photoshop. What I am saying is ‘just write’. Write it all down. All in one swoop. In this project, I did the journaling right on the page. But other times I’ll put in on a pocket journal card or if it’s too long, it will be its own insert. Now…
