Hello! Kim here again today! Happy June and official countdown to summer! Did you notice that our June Sketchy Challenge was revealed? I LOVE these monthly sketches, though I rarely do not get to them until a month or two later, but THAT my friends is perfectly OK! The thing is…sketches do not expire! They will patiently wait for YOU, so relax and work with them on YOUR schedule, not someone else’s!
Kerry Engel has been designing our monthly sketches; and continues to come up with great ideas! This month’s sketch is a double page layout and we are all excited to see what stories you tell!
I am sorry to say…my June sketch inspired layout is a 12×12 layout. I can’t even tell you the last time I did a double page layout [probably since losing horizontal space to scrapbooking product!], so without guilt, I adapted it to what works for me. Remember, the sketch is a starting point for creativity, not an engineering project that counts on the details being EXACT!
I have layered a beautiful piece of Moda Scraps paper onto Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock! This paper collection is stunning and is distributed through Elizabeth Craft Designs.
My photos are matted with reative Scrapbooker Super Stock and edged with a bit of Clearsnap ColorBox Fluid Chalk Ink [Ice Blue], which blends perfectly with the Moda Scraps paper. I also used some Clearsnap ColorBox Pigment Ink to stamp my little story blocks.
My vertical title was created with American Craft Thickers that I received this week in a ScrapShotz kit ~ talk about great timing! Again the colour plays so nice with the background paper, telling the WHAT and WHEN without being the focal point, I want those photos to shine!
Simple embellishments from different Ali Edwards products were used; black, circle word badges, journal card, stamps, and chipboard circle. I LOVE that all the colours in the journal block are found in my photos, it must have been meant to be!
After stamping my little journal blocks, I used my Kelly Creates black Fineliner to write down my thoughts about this day. It was a GREAT day!
A little note about what you don’t see! I have been using Glue Dots adhesives quite a bit lately, they have so many types of adhesives with different strengths of sticking power. They are little powerhouse dots of fun! If you could peek behind everything on my page you’d see them. You’d also ruin my page because permanent dots…don’t mess around with their job! LOL!
We can’t wait to watch our June Sketchy Gallery and Facebook group fill up with your projects! Ready! Set! Go! …unless you don’t have time! The gallery and sketch will wait until YOU are ready!
