Creative Memories Happy Camper Collection with Noreen Smith

The colors, patterns, icons and sayings in this rustic but whimsical collection will be great for capturing all your summer campsite memories and other outdoor adventures! When I was going through boxes of old photos from my parent’s home recently, I found some “vintage” photos of me heading off to Girl Guide Camp laden down with a huge backpack. I remember that I was NOT a happy camper at the time as the backpack weighed more than I did, but I do remember that I had a great time at camp! It was fun to use these photos along with the cute Happy Camper Stickers and Embellishments on this layout. Using one of the two woodgrain papers from the Happy Camper Paper Pack as my base, I layered a 4” x 10.5” strip of the striped paper, an 8” x 9” piece of the teal dot paper and a 9” x 6” piece of the burgundy plaid paper. Then I matted my photos onto the contrasting beige chevron paper before adhering them to the layout. I punched a strip of animal footprints with the new Animal Tracks Border Maker Cartridge and the Original Border Maker System from the same beige chevron paper, and adhered a smaller portion of it so the teal dot paper would show through the negative footprints…so fun! I added a “Happy Camper” sticker and die-cut hiking boots and backpack for the title cluster. To keep things a little asymmetrical, I trimmed the campsite border sticker with my All-Purpose Scissors and mounted it with Foam Squares Adhesive over the teal dot paper below the pictures. I wrote my journaling with the Brown Dual-Tip Pen onto a log slice die-cut and added it to an embellishment cluster placed diagonally from the title cluster. A sprinkling of the self-adhesive faux enamel shapes – including a tree and a mosquito! – from the embellishment pack to both clusters was the perfect finishing touch! I love how the muted colors in the Happy Camper Collection seamlessly work with the colors from my 40 year old photos! Happy Camper is full of outdoorsy charm and I’m sure you’ll find it just right for so many of your photos too!
