Size does matter, sometimes! There are times I want to create smaller than a 12×12. Not because it’s easier, because it works different creative muscles. I pulled out my planner from Elizabeth Craft Designs and used the July 2021 Sketchy Challenge as a starting point.July Sketchy ChallengeWhen I work in the planner, I am always aware of what will ‘split’ down the center. Sometimes I will let photos or ephemera flow across the center if it doesn’t cut in an awkward place, i.e. splitting a person in half would not be good! Trust your brain…it will know right from wrong!

Elizabeth Craft Designs / Planner Essentials / double sided adhesive
Planner Essential dies make it so easy to get the pages the right size! Don’t want the tab? Cut it off with scissors after the page is cut.

Two-page layout in my Elizabeth Craft Designs Planner.
Wild Whisper Happy Tails Collection
I used the adorable Wild Whisper collection Happy Tails! I really wish the quote read “Be the DOG your person thinks you should be“! My Bella is getting childish in her old age!
Ranger Distress Ink / Ground Espresso
I used some Distress Ink to edge my background papers. It especially helped to ‘hide’ where my papers didn’t line up when I adhered to the layout behind!
Tonic Studios / guillotine cutter / scissors / poker
You’ll find these 3 tools at arms reach all the time as I work at my desk! Thank you Tonic Studios for quality and safety features!
Brother P-touch with adapter
Have you ever though about how you might use a labeller in your craft room? I LOVE this little Brother P-touch Cube. It comes with an adapter so I don’t have to use batteries, which is my preference. There is an app that allows you to design your labels, it’s intuitive and easy! It prints from phone or tablet via Bluetooth and there are so many options for ribbons! For my layout I have printed two labels: ‘Bella’ and ’13 years’.

My finished planner layout makes us all smile. Miss Bella has been our problem child for 13 years and going strong. These photos show her beauty, not her crazy! Don’t be fooled by the photos!

Thanks for checking into my post! If you haven’t joined our Sketchy Challenge on Facebook, we welcome you!

  1. Thank you Ms Kim! I agree! Luv the ECD format. Challenged myself to do a December Daily with her planners last year. I must admit I failed to contain my 31 days in one planner. Went across 2, but it gave me the opportunity to learn how to work in a smaller format too. Plan to create more of them! You’re the best. Thank you for taking the time to share with us.

  2. Such fun pages. I am just starting one of these so I enjoyed seeing your pages.
