Howdy! Noreen from OrganizedandCreativeMom.com here to share four ideas and tips for making up the fantastic paper Mini Photo Albums from Creative Memories! I love this new Cherish, Treasure and Appreciate You Bundle and with Mother’s and Father’s Day coming up, these make the perfect little gift albums to celebrate Mom and Dad – or any other special people in your life! The bundle features two 8” x 8” paper Mini Photo Albums – one with a soft, more feminine palette and the other with bolder, masculine colors – and a coordinating sticker sheet with sayings like “Best Mom Ever” and “My Hero”. The bundle components are also sold individually so if you need three masculine albums and only one feminine album, CM has got you covered! I thought it would be fun to share a few ideas on how you can approach making these albums to really customize them depending on the time and supplies you have to put into them.
The first way you can approach using these Mini Photo Albums is to Make it Simple.
Because the album pages are pre-designed, all you need to do is add your photos using the included Tape Chips Adhesive and write a bit of journaling with a Dual-Tup Pen. This simple approach lets the photos and stories shine! If you REALLY want to, add just a couple of the coordinating stickers to each page. Easy-peasy, super-fast and a great way for kids to create a meaningful gift for mom or dad! Tip: The card included with each Mini-Photo Album shows a few suggested photo arrangements to make assembly even easier! The second approach is to Make it Decorative.
Although the album pages look great as-is, it’s always fun to use some additional products and tools to add a little something extra to them! I punched one 12” border from one of the Our Moments Tone-One-Tone Papers (which coordinate beautifully with both of these Mini Photo Albums!) and the new Flourish Vine Border Maker Cartridge and Original Border Maker System and then cut it into one 4” piece to use as a decorative edge for one photo and one 8” piece to enhance the existing page border. This adds an extra lovely, detailed element to this layout with just a few extra steps! The third way you can approach one of these albums is to Make It Interactive.
If you have extra time, more photos that you want to include and a few additional supplies, you can create fun interactive elements in your Mini Photo Album. One way to do this is to create a paper pocket by adhering a 7” x 4” piece of patterned paper on three sides with Tape Runner Adhesive. Decorate the front of the pocket with stickers and then tuck photos, decorative cards from the Our Moments Variety Mat Pack and journaling tags punched with the 3-in 1 Bevel Tag Punch into it. The recipient will enjoy pulling out each item and tucking them back inside for safe-keeping! You can also add LOTS of extra photos to the Mini Photo Album pages by adhering Peekaboo Pockets to the pages. Pull the protective strip off the back edge of the 6” x 4” Peekaboo Pocket and place the self-adhesive strip onto the page, then add additional pockets above so they layer on top of each other in a waterfall fashion. Then add your photos or mat cards inside. With this easy and fun trick you can fit up to six photos/cards into the same space that you might have only added one! The last suggestion is to Make it 12” x 12”.
If you are a traditional scrapbooker and are working on a 12” x 12” gift or tribute album, think of the pages in the Mini Photo Album as page starters! You can disassemble the album and add the individual pages to your larger 12” x 12” pages in a variety of ways. Here I’ve taken one of the 8” x 8” Mini Photo Album pages and adhered it in the center of a page frame created with the new Dollop Arches Frame Punch. It takes pride of place on the larger layout and helps to create a stunning layout in just a few minutes! No matter how much time, experience or supplies you have, you’ll love all the ways you can approach making these Mini Photo Albums! I hope these suggestions get your creative ideas flowing and you get a chance to try them out for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day or to celebrate anyone special!
