June Sketch with Creative Memories Serene Waters by Noreen Smith

Well hello! It’s Noreen from OrganizedandCreativeMom.com here and I have just returned from Minneapolis where I attended the first Creative Memories Creative Minds Conference! It was absolutely inspiring and I came away with lots of new ideas and excitement for the future of CM! I also came home with new products – the Serene Waters Collection launched this past Monday and all the conference attendees received it! The vivid color palette is stunning and captures the essence of a tropical paradise, and you will love it for all of your beach vacation photos!I was so excited to use the new Serene Waters Paper Pack and the fun new Friendly Fish Decorative Border Punch so I took inspiration from this month’s Sketch, which is the first one by Jennifer Edwardson who is taking over the duties of creating the monthly sketch from Kerry Engel. I send my thanks and appreciation to Kerry and I look forward to working with Jennifer in the future! Here’s Jennifer’s June Sketch: To make this sketch into an easy, fast & fun layout, first cut one of the papers from the Serene Waters Designer Paper Pack into three 4” x 12” strips with the 12” Trimmer. Stack the three strips and trim .5” from the short 4” edge and .25” from the long 12” edge to get three paper strips each measuring 3.5” x 11.25” each. Arrange and adhere the striped onto a White Cardstock base page so there is an equal margin all the way around. Trim four 3” x 4” photo mats from Aqua Cardstock and adhere on top of strips.
Punch three borders with the Friendly Fish Decorative Border Punch – one each from Orange Shimmer, Starry Night Shimmer and Shell Shimmer papers. Cut some of the individual blue and shell colored fish from the border strips with Micro-Tip Scissors and adhere directly on top of one of the similar orange fish to create a multi-colored friendly fish border. Create two smaller Friendly Fish border sections by using the remaining pieces of blue or shell pieces for the base and then adding fish cut from the opposite color or orange. Add photos in a slightly tilted manner for a whimsical feel, then mount the multi-colored border using dimensional Foam Squares underneath. Add a title die-cut from the Serene Waters Embellishments Pack as shown and then create additional embellishment clusters with a die-cut journaling box and seaweed shapes. Mount the small multi-colored Friendly Fish border pieces on Foam Squares and add to clusters. Those fish are so cute, and I love that you can create custom embellishments with the Border Punch!
