Hello Connie Nichol here today with a scrapbook layout featuring Wild Whisper Designs patterned paper and an elegant  Quietfire Design stamped quote.  Wild Whisper is a new company out of Calgary Alberta and they design beautiful and unique 12×12 double sided paper collections and paper scrapbooking cards. I had this photograph from a family road trip a few years ago, and the colours from the Wild Whisper Designs collection called ‘Strong and Free’ worked perfectly.  The paper has a little bit of a gloss to it and the variety of designs and colous in the collection are very fun to work with! The matching scrapbooking cards would work really well for pocket page type scrapbooking but here I just tucked some of them behind my photo. WIld Whisper also offers some free cut files.  The white leaves on my scrapbook layout were cut from file called ‘World’s Best’ and is…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a scrapbook layout and a couple of cards created with Echo Park Paper Co.’s Halloween Town collection.   I love scrapbooking photos from when my boys were little and cute.  Now, as teenagers, they don’t dress up and go trick or treating any longer and I miss it.  Ah well, at least I have memories. Here’s an image of the Halloween town collection – a great variety of Halloween colours and images – they are very versatile and very cute! Step by Step: I was in a triangular sort of mood, so I used a ruler and a pencil to quarter several sheets of patterned paper (just pencil a line from opposite corners and cut out your triangle).  I stitched around the edges of each quarter with my Brother sewing machine.  Machine stitching only takes a few minutes and it adds a nice touch to your…

Hello, Connie Nichol here with an autumn themed card featuring Impression Obsession stamps along with a Tombow adhesives and Clearsnap ink.  The DCWV burlap is a MUST HAVE! It is super easy to work with and adds a home spun feel to any project. The Project The Products This rake and leaf die set is the cutest from Impression Obsession.   I love that there are multiple leaf dies in this set.  It makes it very fast to cut out a bunch of leaves in assorted fall colours. I used a Tombow glue pen to adhere the leaves and the rake to my card.  It’s very precise and easy to use and works perfectly for tiny or intricate die cuts. The Impression Obsession stamp set is called ‘Watch the Leaves’.   This is also a great quote to use on fall themed scrapbook layouts.I backed the stamped sentiment with burlap…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a scrapbook layout featuring papers from the FabScraps  collection called Mother Earth. I just love the gentle colours and the beautiful botanical images on these papers.  I was totally inspired by the Berry Bliss sheet of patterned paper to scrapbook my love for raspberry freezer jam.  We eat a lot of it in my house and I make jam all year round.  Once I discovered freezer jam, I never went back to cooked jam.  It just tastes a thousand times better and is so quick to make. FabScraps Mother Earth Patterned paper Here’s a few images of the paper in this FabScraps collection.  Gorgeous.   I like to fussy cut some of the images out and use these as extra embellishments to accent the page.  I also used a sheet of finely corrugated cardboard that I had rescued out of a recycle bin a…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a  layout that features some adorably funny Art Impressions stamps.  These stamps always brings a huge smile to my face.  Although I’m sure they are most often used to make cards, why not use them to embellish a scrapbook layout?  I had the perfect photograph to go with a stamp of three friends drinking wine! Stamps Used Here’s the Art Impressions stamp sets I used.  I had two sets of funny wine stamps in my stash and I wanted to use them both.  I stamped and coloured the ladies from the Girlfriends set with markers, then stamped some of the funny wine expressions, cutting each of them out and backing with black cardstock. Paper Products Used The paper and stickers I used are from the Be Happy 12 x 12 paper pad from Paper House Productions.  Such beautiful patterns and these soft pink and…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with an interactive card featuring Uchi’s Design animation stamps, Elizabeth Craft Designs dies and Ranger Distress Oxide inks.  How fun is it to have a flying butterfly card? I designed this card around these very cool animated stamps from Uchi’s Design.  Basically you stamp the image, place the animation grid over top and when the grid moves, your stamped image comes to life. To make my card, I began by stamping the biggest butterfly onto a piece of white cardstock and adding a pull tab. I then used Elizabeth Craft Designs stitched square dies to create a square frame for my butterfly.  You want the frame to be slightly larger than your stamped butterfly so that it will create a pocket. I sponged some distress oxide ink onto the frame and misted with water, then adhered the animation grid to the frame. I adhered three…

Hi there, Connie Nichol here today with a bright and colourful layout featuring  one big photo and some strips of CTMH cardstock.   I love this cardstock – it is smooth and just the right weight for electronic die cutting and card making and has a white core, meaning it looks stunning when dry embossed or distressed.  Anyway, I had bits and scraps left over from other projects lying around, most of it from the Whimsy cardstock line, and they make an absolutely perfect background for this photo of my son in front of a height chart. The inspiration for this layout totally came from the photograph.  I simply mimicked the coloured stripes on the height sign with strips of similarly coloured cardstock.  Tto dress up the cardstock a little bit, I punched some little cloud shapes out of the same colour of cardstock on a few of the rows…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a layout I created from the BoBunny collection called Petal Lane.  The colours are mostly soft pinks and yellows with some striking black and the patterns dominated by flowers and bicycles.  It’s gorgeous!  Although it’s a feminine colour palette, it works for a lot of other photos too.  Here, I used it for my son’s kindergarten class picture. Here’s an image of the Petal Lane Collection pack. I was inspired by some small hearts on one of the sheets of patterned paper to add some more hearts with the BoBunny Lots of Love stickable stencil and some BoBunny glitter paste.  These stencils are fabulous to use because they don’t move around while you are applying paste.  Unfortunately, I didn’t have any yellow glitter paste in my stash, but I used the colour called ‘Sugar’, which is basically clear.  After it dried, I coloured it with…

Hello, Connie Nichol here to show you one of Creative Memories predesigned albums, Woodland Whimsy Baby Boy.  It is gorgeous and makes memory keeping so easy.  All the design work has already been done, so basically you just add photos and journalling and embellish as desired.  Here’s a two page spread I did in a matter of minutes. I’ll take you through the process so you can see how easy it is.  Here’s the album cover.  Isn’t it cute? The album comes with 16 pre-printed double sided pages.  Here’s the one I worked with – I selected six 4×6 photos and placed them on the designated spaces.  (I added one black and white photo just for fun). Cute, but I wanted to ad some more oomph, so I started by matting some of the photos with cards from the Woodland Whimsy Mat Pack.  These were the perfect size and colours…

Today we want to show you a brilliant idea for party decor designed by Candace Robichaud, a talented paper crafter from Edmonton, Alberta.  Candace transformed a miniature cereal box into a festive pinata party  invitation with a few strips of patterned paper. How cute is this?  You can’t wait to open it! It’s actually pretty simple to make.  Candace bought some of those individual cold cereal boxes, then took out the cereal and replaced it with a party invitation and some treats.  She closed the box back up,  wrapped the box in plain white copy paper and then adhered four strips of fringed patterned paper in an overlapping pattern.   A bit of pom pom trim around the top serves as the final accent. You can put a of stuff into a miniature cereal box.  Think about the possibilities!Don’t forget to decorate your invitations – Candace printed her invitations onto Bazzill…
