It is always a treat to have our very own designer Kelly Klapstein on our web show Technique Tasters #114 – Making Waves and Words with the Brother ScanNCut. On this show, Kelly will walk you through a variety of different techniques she used to create this Bon Voyage card. The techniques include – stamping, drawing and cutting with the Brother ScanNCut, creative lettering AND the addition of BoBunny Glitter Paste – which just happens to be a personal favourite of mine. Thanks Kelly! Kelly put together a variety of different products to create the title, the stamped image and my favourite – the glitter wave at the bottom of the card. Products Used The Brother ScanNCut cut out AND drew a number of elements on this card. You definitely want to check out how the ScanNCut also draws with just about any pen.  BoBunny patterned paper along with some fabulous…

Hi everyone Noreen Smith once again playing with Creative Memories! Happy to be back on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog today sharing a couple of layouts made with Creative Memories’ new Slice of Summer seasonal products! As soon as I saw the papers, stickers and variety mat pack for this collection I knew it would work for lots of fun summer photos. For the first layout I chose several photos of my family at the beach last year in Osoyoos, British Columbia. The photos are not the best, as the sun was behind my sons as they stood in the lake, but I wanted to use them to remember the lovely, relaxing holiday that we had. I figured that cropping them down would help, so I chose the best photo to leave as the largest (4” x 4”), then trimmed down the supporting photos to 3” x 3”. I matted all…

There are some layouts that just stop you in your tracks. That is exactly what I did when I found this layout over at Kaisercraft.  Tatiana Yemelyanenko designed this layout featuring all kinds of their products including glitter cardstock, flourishes, chipboard, pearls, rhinestones, blooms, ink and MORE. This  layout is truly packed with scrapboooking love.   Layers and layers of paper, flowers, die cuts, pearls and dimensional adhesive have been put together as a frame-like focal point for the adorable black and white photo. The added touch of ink splatters here and there are the perfect final touch.  Project of the Month What I discovered as I kept on browsing the Kaisercraft website is that each and every month, they feature a project of the month. That is what this stunning layout was created for! I also discovered that Tatiana used a beautiful new collection from Kaisercraft called Lilac Whisper that…

Hello everyone – Tracy McLennon here today! Are you a planner lover like I am? Even before decorative planners were “a thing” in the paper crafting world, I enjoyed keeping organized with a paper planner. I never went digital. I like to doodle and play with fonts, so I made ordinary planners my own over time. But now, look at all of the pretty things available at our fingertips to make our everyday lives just a little bit cuter. So I thought I would share what my planner pages look like before I begin the month. Over time I add little notes here and there, appointments, memories and to-do lists.Project Recipe: Simple Stories- Carpe Diem Collection: Planner, Epoxy Metal Clips, Washi Tape and Binder Rings Simple Stories- Domestic Bliss Collection: patterned paper, clear stickers, sticker sheets Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L- EZ RunnerI love how the squares in the stickers sheets from…

What an absolute treat it was to have Els Van de Burgt from Elizabeth Craft Designs on our web show Technique Tasters #113 – Creating Backgrounds for Cards. Els is the owner of Elizabeth Craft Designs and has been creating, teaching and spreading the love of paper crafts for years. On today’s show Els pulled out a number of her very own products including cardstock, dies, stamps and adhesives. Along with Tim Holtz for Ranger oxide inks and Sakura Pigma Micron PN pens to create this beautiful card. Oxide Ink Effect The cool oxide water effect you see in the background is all the rage right now. It looks rather intimidating, however, as you watch the video you will discover that it is really rather simple to create and fool proof! The other cool fact about this technique is that NO two creations look the same. Products Used To create…

I will never forget how excited Christy Riopel was for her very first Art Show. For weeks she created canvases filled with her fun loving mixed media style. So many of the techniques she practiced and taught in her art journals showed up on her one of kind canvases. I smile when I think of her creating in her studio. My daughter and I drove all the way to Calgary (a five hour drive) to attend. I am so grateful that I did. She didn’t know I was coming – the look on her face was PRICELESS when she saw me walk in.  From elephants to pandas to ballet slippers her booth was filled with her beautiful creations.  I had a very hard time deciding what to purchase. After a few cups of coffee I decided on a HUGE mixed media canvas of an elephant. This beautiful piece will forever…
