Yoga Retreat A few years ago, when I had only a few yoga sessions under my belt, my novice self was invited to a yoga retreat in Canmore. Hello again everyone! Leah O’Neil here with you on the blog today, with the last post of my Creative Planners blog series. Over the past year, I’ve enjoyed showing you some creative ways to use and decorate your planners. Today, I’m showing you how I use  creative planners to document gratitude. I have dedicated whole journals and creative planners to this in the past, which is definitely a fun and fulfilling way to fill pages. In this case however, I had a week in my weekly spiral planner that I didn’t use, so the pages were blank. It’s funny how this happens sometimes (to me) – I had an incredibly busy week that week but I kept forgetting my planner and just ended up making loads of to do lists instead. Whenever I have weeks like this where I don’t use my planner as much, for whatever reason, I like…

Adding sewing products to your scrapbooking and paper crafting creations is definitely a trendy rage right now. It is so easy to add a button here or there, add machine stitching OR simply add a mess of sewing thread! Yes you read the correctly!  A mess of sewing thread adhered to your layout is the perfect amount of layered texture without adding any bulk. I first saw this technique way back in the Spring 2015 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine, on one of Christy Riopel’s layouts, of course. She was cutting edge way back then. Love it! Spring 2015 Creative Scrapbooker Magazine In this issue, Christy wrote and designed, a feature article called “From My Grandmother’s Sewing Basket”. The article was all about pulling out your sewing baskets and using your supplies on your paper crafting projects.  The layouts in this feature are absolutely gorgeous and incorporate all things sewing…

Hello! Noreen Smith here, and I’m very happy to be on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog today to share some Christmas projects using Creative Memories’ Sugarplum Collection! This sweet collection features a Paper Pack, Stickers, Embellishments, coordinating Vellum Papers, a foiled Album cover and Fast2Fab Pre-printed Album pages! The designs are inspired by holiday candy, décor and classic Christmas icons, as well as whimsical, playful patterns that also make it perfect for birthdays, Winter, babies and more. Some might comment that at first glance the collection doesn’t seem too Christmas-y as it features a lot of pastels. But of you remember that colors like pink and mint green are just tinted versions of the more traditional Christmas colors of red and green, you’ll realize that they really are quite versatile! Since there were some cute candy and gingerbread house icons in the sticker pack, I used the collection to document our…

Christmas Tags Instead of Christmas Cards Working within magazine timelines is kinda crazy. You could be sitting on the beach sun tanning while working on your Christmas assignments for the winter issue. LOL! Each and every summer at Creative Scrapbooker Magazine, we start to plan for and start creating the projects within the upcoming winter issue. I will send out the assignments when the weather is warm and hear back from each of our designers with questions and their suggestions. Christy Riopel ALWAYS ALWAYS came back with the same thing….. “I will make Christmas tags instead of Christmas cards!” – giggle, giggle. She just didn’t enjoy the creative process of putting together a card.  BUT tags – tags she loved! The Winter 2012 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine Check out these gorgeous Christmas tags Christy created for the Winter 2012 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine.
