Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! For today’s blogpost, I’m sharing with you how to create this So Very Thankful Tag which uses The Simple Life  Collection from Simple StoriesAswell as adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. You’ll want to grab a cup of your favourite winter beverage and learn how to recreate my tag at home. To start, you’ll need a tag. I used a white tag and cut it down to 3 1/8” x 5 ½”. Take the dark plaid patterned paper out of The Simple Life 6×8 Paper Pad from Simple Stories. Trace the tag around the patterned paper. Cut the patterned paper tag out. Sand the edges of the patterned paper tag. Out of The Simple Life 6×8 Paper Pad from Simple Stories, you’ll need the white floral paper and the light washed wood paper. Cut the white floral paper to 2 7/8” x 4 ½”. Cut the…

Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year, as I am able to share my passion of creating beautiful gifts using my favourite rubber stamps, dies, ink, and paint. This year, as a gift for my daughter Nikki, I decided to create a photo montage—a gorgeous wall display that she can leave up year-round. I used an amazing Christmas-ish die—Noel Decorative Die from Heartfelt Creations—to do the backgrounds on all three of the handmade frames. I referred to the die as “Christmas-ish” because it was designed as part of their Christmas angel series, however, it was perfect for this “Every Summer Tells a Story” custom-made gift. A Christmas gift that keeps on giving all year long!!!! YA! Have a wonderful Saturday everyone My project was featured in the Winter 2022 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine in my regular column – Cathie’s Choice. Get your copy of the magazine…

Now, if this layout designed by Desiree Saskiw could speak it would say SUNSHINE and HAPPINESS! Am I right or am I right? What a beautiful bright happy design. Desiree built the background starting with a white piece of heavy white Super Stock and then started adding layers of different types of texture. One of the elements that really jumps out on this layout for me are the FOILS! They are all the rage right now and can be a bit overwhelming.  Whether you are just starting out OR are a seasoned “foiler” be sure to reach for Therm O Web Deco Foil Transfer Gel Duo. This fabulous medium allows you to add foils to your projects WITH or WITHOUT heat! Come again?!?!?!?!?! Love that versatility! Desiree used an alphabet script stencil, the Transfer Gel Duo  and Foil Transfer Sheets to create the beautiful shiny script you see in the background.…

I had TONS of fun creating this watercolor bicycle using products by Art Impressions. Seriously – if you haven’t already, you need to pop on over to the Art Impressions You Tube Channel and start watching and taking their watercolour tutorials – they are easy to follow, you only need basic supplies and the results are so professional!  I know I am addicted! Here is the project I created. And here are the basic instructions for you to follow along if you like. Stamp the Art Impressions bicycle, using Ranger Archival ink on a piece of watercolour paper. Apply blue marker 526 to acrylic palette. Add water with a paintbrush. With a very light hand and very little water, paint the bicycle, leaving areas with no colour. 2. Repeat this process with a black marker N25, painting the tires and adding shadows to the baskets and seat. 3. Repeat the…

Hey there! It’s Noreen Smith here to share a fun layout using all three colorful variations of the new Totally Tonal papers and stickers from Creative Memories! I love these new tonal collections and how they match perfectly with CM’s exclusive new mill-run cardstock! During each quarter of 2023, CM will offer tonal collections in three different colors, so you’ll want to purchase them throughout the year so you can use them with ALL the coordinating cardstock and other collections! I love being able to mix and match perfectly! For Quarter 1 (January through March) the three Totally Tonal collections feature the colors Baby Blue, Island Waters and Purple Ice! Each set is gorgeous on it’s own, but I had so much fun using all three colorways in my layout today! My family visited a spectacular indoor light display back in December called “Glow YYC”. Of course, there were lots…

A few days ago I posted a layout designed by Lori Domes of a gorgeous day at the ocean….well …. the reality in my world is this layout designed by Kerry Engel! Giggle Giggle!  Kerry’s limit is -20! You are a brave girl Kerry! Mine is maybe -10!!!!! I love looking at cold wintery weather from the comfort of my cozy, toasty house and that is about it! There is soooooooo much glorious texture on this layout – I wish you all could TOUCH IT!  To create the faux snow and grout effect Kerry used Ranger Texture paste.  Its  super thick and creamy to work with it. The results are ;wintery, chilly and FABULOUS! Kerry’s layout was  featured in the Winter issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine. Get your copy today! Stay warm my friends!

In Alberta, Canada right now we are in snowy wonderland. The frost on the trees , the crystal blue skies and the fluffy piles of white snow are so picturesque and calling us to play outside. BUT IT’S COLD! Giggle Giggle! I don’t wanna go outside! Flipping through the Winter issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine this morning – THIS layout, designed by Lori Domes – SPOKE to me! I can hear the waves and taste the salt!  AND I am 100% positive that it is warm!!!!! The paper tearing technique on Lori’s layout really gives the feeling of movement of the waves and the Tonic Studios Nuvo Crystal drops add the PERFECT bits of sparkle. The only problem with Tonic Studios Nuvo Crystal Drops – I never know when to stop adding them! More is always better – right?! Lori’s layout was  featured in the Winter issue of Creative Scrapbooker…

How stinking cute are these gift bags, boxes and tags designed by Nicole Wright featuring products by Stampers Anonymous and Ranger! So simple, so adorable AND so customizable!!!! Is customizable a word?!?!?! Here are the simple steps that Nicole followed. 1. Fold the top of your paper bag back approximately 1″, using a bone folder. Punch a hole in the centre. 2. Use Ranger Archival jet-black ink to stamp your Stampers Anonymous holiday images randomly on the front and back of the bag. 3. Colour the stamped images using Dina Wakley Media Scribble Sticks. 4.  Use a waterbrush pen to blend the Scribble Stick colours. Have fun, and create coordinating tags, cards, and holiday boxes. The stamp set that Nicole used is the Stampers Anonymous Tim Holtz Yuletide Gatherings stamp set. To colour the stamped images Nicole used her Ranger Dina Wakley Media Scribble Sticks. So much fun and so super…

The winter issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine  is out and about on newsstands and at your favourite local scrapbooking stores! This issue we featured projects inspired by anything bricks! Here is one of the layouts we featured in this column designed by Kim Gowdy. Not only did we LOVE the photo of these two handsome fellas reading the Summer issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine (giggle giggle) we also LOVED the background that Kim created. Kim used a variety of Ranger products to build the design however it was the Dina Wakley Media Collage Papers that stole the show! These sheets really added a soft, yet graphic texture that totally added to the design. Love it Kim! Be sure to pop on over to the Ranger website to check out the selection of Dina Wakley Media Collage Papers – you will be hooked! And don’t forget to pick up your copy…

Documenting December in 2021 was hard. When Omicron hit midway through December it felt like a crushing blow to my everything. Like many of you, I had high expectations of the pandemic being behind us so when Omicron came along, it felt so heavy, it hurt. It remains a time I don’t want to document as I immediately feel the panic and anxiety creeping back. Being a business owner, it was absolutely gut wrenching. That black cloud continued into 2022 and I still feel those weights today as we continue to claw our way out of that black hole. Needless to say, my December 2021 album did not get completed. However, my children who are now 12, 10 and 2 look at these December Daily albums every year especially to determine exactly whose turn it is to put the star on the tree. So, I feel an obligation to complete…
