Hello Creative Scrapbookers! My name is Jayme Loge and I hope you enjoy this little blog offering for your inspiration.  Because let me tell you, my oh my! did I have fun playing with these adorable Whoot stamp collection from Art Impressions! I just love their squeezable, squishable big-eyed faces! They are simple enough cards, but a lot of work goes into coloring or painting the images and I just didn’t want to get in the way of their whooty cuteness! The first card I made features a simple stenciled background (Tim Holtz stencils). I used a sponge applicator and Dylusions paint over a page torn out from an old book. I totally geek out over using book pages any time I can! I colored the stamped image with Chameleon markers and assembled everything on a Kraft cardstock. The next card features a row of water colored Whoot with a…

I have completely fallen in love with Kerry Engel’s martini greeting card! How fun is this beautiful little creation. I can think of a few girlfriends who would get a real giggle out of receiving this card. To create the background Kerry followed these basic steps 1. On a piece of Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock, blend Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks. 2. Spritz with water and watch the oxide effect. 3. Gently pat a Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Adhesive sheet onto the base – only part of the adhesive will sit down. 4. Sprinkle with Ranger embossing powder and heat set! Here is a complete list of supplies that Kerry used. Each and every week, we look back in time and remember the beautiful art of our late friend and colleague Christy Riopel. Christy’s designs are timeless. So many of her creations from way back when continue to inspire us today. This week we are looking back to the Winter 2016 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine. This was the last article that Christy wrote for our magazine. Christy was probably one of the most organized people I knew. She had her articles ready to go at the beginning of August and shortly after passed away. We ran her article and then decided to retire it in her honor. This Tool Junkie article was all about using Creative Memories border punches. Here is the last project that Christy designed in her beautiful creative life. It will always be a very special layout for me. Christy used the grass border punch on the…

Getting from Containerize to Organized – Why You Need the 4 Section System and a ScrapRack Hello everyone, Tiffany Spaulding here today from Totally-Tiffany on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. I’ve been helping crafters, specifically scrapbookers and card makers get organized for just over 15 years.  In that time one thing has remained constant, crafter’s whose supplies are visible and accessible – get more done, craft more often, use more of their stash, experience less frustration looking for supplies, enjoy attending more crafting events AND have a significantly easier time putting their supplies away at the conclusion of a project.  If you want to improve your crafting experience, it’s time to give up the “dig and search” for the “Flip and Find!” Your big question?  “How do I get my supplies visible and accessible?”  The answer is simpler than you might imagine – Embrace the 4 Section System Move your…

Hello everyone – Karen Ellis here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. I’ve been getting ready to attend ScrapFest / CreativFestival this weekend in Toronto with the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine and thought I’d share a sneak peek of something that I will be doing with the event participants on the show floor – making our own washi tape with Ranger Paints and Gel Press Plates. We’ll be creating the washi tape for this layout project that I’ll be teaching in the Interactive Studio at the show.  It’s simple and easy to do and uses plain ol’ masking tape that I’m sure you have somewhere in your stash at home. Here’s what we’re doing: Products Used Masking Tape  – placed on transparencies/non-stick surface Gel press Printing Plate – Gel Press 4” Soft Brayer – Gel Press Acrylic Paint – Ranger Ink Small Paint Brush / or blunt end for mark…

Hello everyone Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog with a simple Happy Birthday layout featuring products by MultiCraft and Chameleon Pens. I was immediately drawn to Multicraft’s Art Therapy Stickers. They are massive stickers that you can color, how fun is that?  They offer so many possibilities.  The package comes with large stickers and labels that can be combined to create a graphic, whimsical layout. I could have colored the entire sticker, (they are smooth and they love Chameleon Pens), but I opted to leave it in black and white and just color one label.I adhered the label sticker to some cardstock to give it some strength.  After I colored it with my Chameleon Pens I mounted it on foam squares to give some dimension to the layout. The large Art Therapy stickers have a sentiment in the middle. Using an exact-o knife I cut around the inside of…

Each and every week, we look back in time and remember the beautiful art of our late friend and colleague Christy Riopel. Christy’s designs are timeless. So many of her creations from way back when continue to inspire us today. This week we are looking back to the Winter 2015 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine. This was our 10th-anniversary issue and Christy Riopel played a HUGE role in putting this issue together.  From her Top Ten Background Techniques feature to her Top Ten Must-Have Tools – this issue was packed with love from Christy. One of my favourite projects that Christy created for this issue was her take on the front cover. Not only did she create a stunning layout but the cake that our gorgeous model is holding was also designed by Christy. This cake went on to be our signature look for anything and everything celebrating our 10th anniversary.…
