Today, we welcome guest blogger Alison Krogsgaard, who creates wonderful projects with Close To My Heart! Hello there! Wow, I am beyond excited to have the privilege and honor to share a bit about myself and Close to My Heart on the Canadian Scrapbooker blog! I am a thirty-something year old mom to 5 year old twins, happily living in Whitecourt, Alberta, and if you can imagine it, you’d think I was one of my children with all the squealing, dancing and overall giddiness I experienced when I received the invitation to be a guest blogger! For me, this is a huge honor! In addition to being a mom to busy twins (who also like to ‘scrapbook’ and ‘make cards’), I’m also a stay at home mom, and most recently a Close to My Heart consultant. Deep down, I had secretly always thought selling paper crafting supplies would be awesome (and…

featuring Sizzix Eclips2 electronic die cutting machine, Core’dinations cardstock,  Simple Stories patterned paper and chipboard stickers Ha!  It’s not often you run into Marilyn Monroe (since it has been reported she died in 1962), but on a vacation in California, we were happy to see her sitting on a chair in Universal Studios Hollywood.  My husband was thrilled to have a photo taken with her.  The April Sketch from the Canadian Scrapbooker Sketchy Challenge was perfect for scrapbooking these pictures that I took with my phone.  Rather than the circles shown in the sketch, I considered using stars but finally settled on diamonds, since don’t you know, Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend. I cut the diamonds on Core’dinations Black Magic cardstock with my Sizzix Eclips2 electronic die cutting machine.  The basic shapes that are supplied with this machine are so handy.  I just dragged and dropped the squishy diamond shape…

In 20 minutes we like toshare with you some of our very favourite ideas, tools, toys, stamps, ink, paint and more. The Technique Taster’s may be short in time but they are“tall” in inspiration.  For my part in the Technique Taster at Scrapfest in Kitchener (GOING ON RIGHT NOW) we will be creating one of these tags with in the Canadian Scrapbooker booth.      I know we will have tons of fun as we take Canadian Scrapbooker “white Super Stock” tag and turn it into a “tag to remember”, using the Cathie Allan, Position-It, pigment ink, masking and smearing techniques that are easy and fun. Those of you who have stamped “a while” and those of you who are just beginning to explore the “fun ink filled” world of stamping will…

My name is Tracy McLennon, and I am really so humbled to have been asked to share some of my crafty life with all of you here on the Canadian Scrapbooker blog. But first, here is a little bit about me. I live my crafty life on the east coast of Canada in Truro, Nova Scotia. What makes my world go round is my talented band teacher hubby, 2 beautiful teenage step daughters, and our crazy rescue pooch Kya. I have the best crafty friends around too! I have been scrapbooking and teaching paper crafting for about 17 years now, and in that time I have seen SO many changes, and love how the art has evolved. My style would best be described as clean, classic design. I love to mix patterns and…

Featuring Aladine Izink Pigment inks distributed by Clearsnap and Quietfire Design stamps Hello, Connie here impatiently waiting for the snow to melt, the mud to dry and the garden to grow. This layout was totally inspired by my stash of fake flowers.  I was trying to declutter my basement and gathered up all the artificial flowers that I have collected over the years.  Most of these were purchased from Dollarama or from the clearance aisle at Michaels and Walmart stores, but have largely turned into dust collectors since I rarely use flowers on layouts these days. Before I passed these posies on to their next home, I thought I would do one more layout with them for old time’s sake.  I started with a piece of Canadian Scrapbooker Superstock and made my own really simple customized paper by adding a rainbow of colour with Izink inks.   The Izinks are manufactured by Aladine…
