Hello everyone!  Today is my turn to share some scrap happiness with you.  As usual, the weather was cold and snowy last weekend, so I sat down with the Canadian Scrapbooker Sketchy Challenge for February and came up with this layout: Here is Sue Sykes’ February 2015 sketch: This is the first winter in a very, very long time….since my kids were little and playing outdoors a lot…that I have gone outside.  And it’s all because of our pup Finn, who is fanatical about snow and is always too hot inside.  Finn takes me on walks at least twice a day, every single day.  I still can’t believe it myself! I’m even enjoying it. I just LOVE the colours in this year’s winter collection from BoBunny.  Altitude has fabulous patterns and stickers! I cut the title from a piece of patterned paper and made it into a banner: My journaling is…

This week we are heading into Lynn’s beautiful, bright space. I am envious of her amazing light that bathes her space! *swoon* Good morning Kim!  I love visiting other crafter’s space and sharing ideas on how to keep things organized!   I would love to share my scrappy space with you today 🙂   My husband deserves 99% of the credit for this room; it was his idea and encouragement that made it happen… (and patience…

Hello everyone!  Can you believe that it’s already Feb 3rd?  2015 is flying by! A few days ago, I posted the February sketch in our Sketchy gallery.  In case you aren’t familiar with our monthly sketch challenge, let me be the first to enlighten you!  Each month, I create a sketch and post it in a new section in our challenge gallery.  Each month has its’ own gallery which contains the monthly sketches, along with lots of inspiration from our talented team members and readers! Quick tip:  If you want to see all of the sketches at once, you can find them HERE in my gallery. This month, the sketch features a single photo but you can easily adjust this sketch to suit multiple photos by simply enlarging the circle elements and adding more photos.  In honour of Valentine’s Day and its’ theme of love, I created this layout using…

Honestly now. How cute is this herd? Although these are simple cards, colouring can sometimes take time. Truthfully, I don’t feel like colouring in detail most of the time. Anything that takes time is not my style. (Patience, much?) Instead, I’ll stamp several images on some white cardstock and colour while watching one of my favourite shows. And let’s get serious… January is unofficially “camp out and watch TV” month. So, how did I do it? These are Stampin’ Up! Blendabilities markers. They are alcohol based and come in sets of three, which includes a light, medium and dark shade. They have them in packs of three because it takes all the guesswork out of how to blend and shade. There is a knack to colouring and blending but my rule of thumb is always – colour what looks “right” to you. You can think about the light source and…

Today we welcome Nicole Wright, also known as Canadian Nickel Scrap’n, who creates amazing projects with Sizzix! Well, can I just say I’m thrilled to be a Guest Blogger on Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine!  Hey everyone, my name is Nicole. I live in beautiful Calgary, Alberta with my husband of 20 years and 3 growing kids. I’m a proud Canadian Blogger and I love all things grungy, vintage and messy.  I’ve worked hard to find my style and I love sharing my creative process. In 2014 I entered and won the Sizzix http://www.sizzix.com/home  Who Are You Contest as North America’s Top Crafter.  I was flown to Sizzix where I spent the day meeting the Sizzix Team, crafting and learning.  Every crafters dream! I was asked by Sizzix Designer Eileen Hull to create 5 projects for CHA from her newest Sizzix Collection.  I’m excited to share with you my Travel Trailer.  This new Sizzix collection…

Here we are…the last week of January! The days are noticeably lighter; longer and we are one month closer to Spring. We have had an abnormally wonderful, warm month here in Alberta and my heart goes our to our friends in the East who are struggling through lots of snow this week. Hang in there…YOU TOO are one month closer to Spring! Although we aren’t holding a shovel to clear your driveway, we feel your pain. For now…pay her no attention, it’s time to see where Donna Mather creates! Thanks for sharing your space with us Donna! Remember…we LOVE getting your pictures. Tell us in a few words why you love your space, share your favourite storage ideas and let us take a peek! We,…
