Hey everyone, Kim here! I’m sharing a simple layout today celebrating some of the yummy foods we enjoyed during a recent trip to Kauai. The layout itself is very basic, starting with a grid of four photos, offset to the right. I adhered my photo grid on top of two cardstock papers from some older Momenta stacks that I had from last year. The fun starts when I look for embellishments to add interest! Momenta has some wonderful dies. I was lucky enough to have three sets that played really well together and YES, one was the Christmas wreath! I easily cut the words out of the center and it was the perfect size to layer with my pineapple and flower die cuts! The “KAUAI” title was cut using the alpha dies, I love the font and size! All of the dies were cut from Brea Reese Mixed Media paper.…
Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a quick and easy scrapbook layout about my recent foray into yoga. Yoga is not something I’d ever done before, but I’m always open to trying new things. I wasn’t sure I’d like it but I did. Especially the Aromatherapy Deep Stretch and Relaxation class! In order to scrapbook this I snapped a picture of my new yoga mat and a screenshot of yoga appointments during my trial week. The screenshot was originally a very vibrant grass green so I adjusted the hue to purple in Photoshop Elements so that it would match my yoga mat and background paper. Super easy to do and made the whole scrapbooking process much easier and gentle on the eyes. I started with a beautiful piece of paper from the FabScraps Serenity line. The double-sided patterned papers from this line have soft muted colours and patterns featuring botanicals,…
Hello and happy Tuesday! It is Jayme Loge here hoping all you Creative Scrapbookers are having a lovely morning with some signs of spring. Where I live, we’ve been buried under an endless ‘polar vortex’. While it has meant a lot of time indoors for scrapbooking I am totally craving some outdoor life! It was a good opportunity to tackle some of the photographs in my ‘to be scrapbooked’ folder. My usual process is to start with a photograph and find paper and embellishments to suit, but I had the lovely Wild Whisper Designs “Farmhouse” paper pack that was just calling. I ended up choosing two pictures of my daughter, Avery, taken about 11 years apart! And both featured the great outdoors, so I could at least revel in the memory of it… I first scrapbooked the more recent picture. I like to wait until the school year is over…
Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a scrapbook layout featuring stamps, dies and patterned paper from the Heartfelt Creations Backyard Blossoms collection. I adore the coneflowers and other blooms that are its focus. In addition to patterned paper, there are three stamp sets with matching dies that are part of the collection. I’ve used the set called ‘Blossoming Coneflower’. I stamped the images with Ranger archival black ink and coloured them with Chameleon pens. These pens were absolutely perfect for this project – I could achieve gradation of colour in the petals and leaves with a single pen. Supplies Used: Heartfelt Creations patterned paper, stamps and dies, MultiCraft flakes, glue, letter stickers and wooden butterfly, Chameleon Color Tone pens, Ranger ink, Glue Dots Adhesives, corrugated cardboard, doily. I used the Heartfelt Creations Backyard Blossoms collection and Blossoming Coneflower stamp with coordinating die. I stamped the Heartfelt Creations stamp using Ranger…
Hey there! Noreen from OrganizedandCreativeMom.com here to share some ideas for using two fabulous new Paper Packs from Creative Memories – Rustic Manor and Sky & Water. These collections include gorgeous photographic background papers that can be a bit intimidating to use. These amazing collections feature beautifully photographic background papers that include images of water, sky, beaches, clouds, the Northern Lights, trees, foliage, moss, marble, and wood grains. I don’t know about you, but I’ve always been a little apprehensive about using these types of papers…I mean, the background images are so lovely, why would you cover them up? On top of that usually, there are no specific embellishments that coordinate with the papers. It always seemed kind of daunting, so I’ve steered clear of these papers in the past. But when I saw these new papers, I knew I had to challenge myself to use them, and I love…
Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a scrapbook layout featuring a number of products manufactured by MultiCraft and adhered together with various adhesives from Glue Dots. MultiCraft is based in Ottawa and strives to provide great quality craft items at reasonable prices. Some of the brand names under the MultiCraft umbrella are Forever in Time, Craft Medley and Color Factory. I find many of their products at my local dollar store so they are an excellent choice for frugal paper crafters. I started with some Forever in TIme Vintage Rose patterned cardstock. I moistened the top and bottom edges with a paintbrush and some water and rolled and ripped them to create a border. Here’s what the flip side of some of those patterned paper looks like. Many of them are glittered and are very pretty. decided that a guitar-themed layout needed a guitar-shaped embellishment so I printed out an electric…
HI Friends, welcome to the Creative Scrapbooker Blog today! Its Karan Gerber here to host the blog for you today and I have a simple winter, scrapbook layout to share with you using papers from the Kaisercraft Wonderland Paper Collection. I know sometimes we want to fit as many photos as we can on a layout, but often times we are able to capture a special moment and that photo deserves a full page. This photo is of my friend’s grandson Boston, I am so grateful she let me scrapbook him. To start off, I used the Wonderland snowfall for my background, cutting out a one-inch frame all the way around and I matted an 11 .75 x 11.75 dark blue cardstock on top. Realizing this color would be too dark for my layout I decided to add another cardstock mat on top of that measuring 11×11. My cut out from the background…

Hi friends! Noreen Smith from OrganizedandCreativeMom.com here on the CSM blog today sharing some tips on using a fantastic tool from Creative Memories – the Collage Wreath Recipe Template! This is the latest in a series of wonderful templates that can really take your layouts to the next level! The mylar template can be used over and over again to create a wide variety of scrapbook pages by rotating the stencil and/or flipping it to the other side, and you can customize each layout by choosing which the of traceable elements you want to feature in your layout. Simply place the template on top of patterned paper or cardstock, trace the shapes you want with a pencil, cut them out and arrange them on your album page or cardstock. I created a few different variations to show you just how versatile this tool is! In this first layout, I wanted…
LOL! Yes, I do!!!!! Pure happiness! Check out Tracy McLennon’s layout featuring Simple Stories. Not only do I love a well-stocked craft room, but I also LOVE it when fellow scrapbookers take the time to document the room that they spend so much time in. At first glance, you may think it silly, but it is a very large part of what we do and who we are. Where we spend hours telling our stories, documenting our history, learning, creating and simply being who we are. Take a moment in 2019 and scrapbook your space. Tell the story of how it began, your favourite moments, and your scrapbooking journey. It is a part of you and therefore it is PERFECT! Your family will love it! Tracy put together her layout using the Simple Stories Crafty Girl collection. To see more of Tracy’s work visit her blog – Scrappy Chick Designs…
