I just finished reading this book last night – Room Its about a young woman who was kidnapped and held for over 7 years during which time her son – Jack – was born. They lived in ROOM. The entire book is written through Jack’s eyes who is now 5. I found it disturbing but compelling. I couldn’t put it down – I will definately be lookig for more books by Emma Donoghue – who just happens to be Canadian! I love that! Have a great evening everyone!
I just finished reading this book last night. It is the true story of Mary-Ann a young girl coming of age in a Hutterite Colony in Manitoba and then adjusting to life in the outside world. I found it both fascinating and heartwarming. A nice light summer read while bathing in the sun! I love the fact that at first no one would publish Mary-Ann’s book so she created her own publishing company – Polka Dot Dress and published it herself! The book has now been printed three times and is a National Best Seller! I absolutely love when good things happen to good people! Bravo Mary-Ann!
Finished this book a few days ago! WOWZERS! Talk about an action packed exciting novel! I thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn’t wait to get to the next pages! There were times however, that I got lost in all the character development! I found myself reading quickly over stuff…..I know that’s bad. I started reading the third and final book in this series – The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest and I was happy to hear that all three books have been made into movies! The movies are in Swedish with English subtitles! I will definately be watching them!
I finished reading this book yesturday…. This book will stay with me for a very long time. It was inspiring, saddening, joyful, thoughtful….and so many more adjectives!!! This is an absolute MUST read and the author is CANADIAN! Add it to your list – you will not regret it! Hope your all having a great long weekend – we still have tomorrow left!!!!!!!!
So I just finished reading this book – it actually took me almost an entire month to finish – which is rather unusual for me. I just had a really hard time getting into it and there were soooooooooooooooooooooooooo many character developments!!!!! I stuck it out and loved the suspense and mystery but the ending……well…..I was disappointed. I thought the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo deserved a break in life. Just my two cents! (hope that isn’t a spoiler for anyone;() The next book I am going to tackle is – The Book of Negros – I will keep you all posted! Have a great evening – off I go to the ball park.
