Hello everyone Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. We had a lot of celebrating going on in my family this year. Our oldest daughter has graduated from the University of Alberta. Creative Memories Cap and Gown Collection provides a lot of inspiration for layouts and cards. This collection also has a coordinating album – which I love.  Super quick and super easy.  In this layout I used the Variety Mat Pack to create a faux pocket page.  The only additional item I used was Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Creative Photo corners.  I adhered stickers on cardstock and fussy cut out the stickers and mounted them on foam squares to create some dimension.  You did it card I like the challenge of trying to create fun cards from Variety Mat Packs and stickers. I layered the 4×6 card on the 4.5×6.5 card and used stickers, Scrapbook Adhesives…

With so many amazing products to play with from the Stampin’ Up! annual catalogue, it was difficult to decide what stamp set I wanted to show you this month.  However, after months of grey skies seeing the sun streaming through my window was the inspiration I needed.  Heck, even seeing the yellow weeds (Ahem. Dandelions) growing in my front yard was a welcome sight. Of couurse, I’d much rather see daisies. Stampin’ Up! has released a daisy stamp set and co-ordinating punch.  It makes it unbelievably easy to make a gorgeous flower bouquet at the tips of your fingers!I’ve created this card and favour box using my water colouring techniques of crushed curry refill ink and an aqua painter.  It’s so easy that you don’t even have to go inside the lines while colouring.  To create this look, I used water colour paper and heat embossed the daisy stamp using…

Hello everyone – Kerry Engel here! With the start of a new month – brings us our monthly sketch challenge. Here is July’s sketch… Six photos on one page! This is a great layout for telling a visual story. Clustering the pics tightly on the left and keeping the right side empty balances the design. Succulent Summer LayoutMy daughter and I have a lot of succulents. The Simple Stories Summer Days Collection was perfect for our springtime ritual. I created the “succulent” title and white border (based on the sketch) on my cutting system. I filled in the flowers with different papers from the collection. I stained the title and edged things with green Clearsnap ColorBox ink to finish it off. Supplies: Simple Stories Summer Days collection, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, Clearsnap ColorBox ink. Art Journal PageThis page is just layers and layers of Ranger oxide inks. I colored the cut…

Hello everyone Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog.  I’ve loved plumeria since I first went to Hawaii in (cough, cough) 1974. I just couldn’t resist Heartfelt Creations Plumeria and their Tropical Paradise Collection. It just makes me smile. It reminds of Hawaiian leis, beaches and Don Ho’s “Tiny Bubbles” (it was 1974, remember?). To create the flowers I stamped one set in pink (and one in orange) Clearsnap ColorBox ink. I left everything on the stamp positioner so that I could stamp on top and then emboss once I was done coloring. I embossed with Clearsnap ColorBox clear embossing powder.I coloured the stamps with Stabilo Carbothello chalk pastel pencils. I blended the colours with a blending nib. I did the same thing with the Parrot.  I followed the instructions on the Heartfelt Creations website on how to put together the plumeria. https://www.heartfeltcreations.us/video/150/ez-steps-to-create-plumerias  I also highlighted the flowers…

Hi everyone – Noreen Smith here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog.Do you use sketches in your scrapbooking? They are so versatile and you can use them over and over again, right? Well, you can really do the same thing with a card sketch! At this time of year there are so many occasions that you might be creating cards for, so why not use one sketch as the basic design and change up your supplies to create all of the cards you need quickly and easily? Each month I design a “1-2-3 Card Sketch” that gets its name because it uses just 1 sentiment, 2 paper shapes and 3 embellishments. I create a handout with the sketch and measurements as well as samples of the finished cards, along with a video that demonstrates how quick it can be to create cards using this formula (if you’re interested, you…
