Welcome to March…Pam Bray here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine Blog creating a fun little mixed media tag. Time to start creating and what better way but to grab some Tim Holtz fabulous products to create with! I am sharing a tutorial on how easy the Ranger Distress Oxides are to use along with Sizzix Dies and Stampers Anonymous Stamps to “create” a mixed media tag! Begin by die cutting a Sizzix Tag and Book Plate from white cardstock and chipboard. Apply Wild Honey to craft mat; spritz with water and drag white cardstock through the mist. Dry. Repeat with Picked Raspberry and again with Crackled Pistachio to create background paper. Remember to dry between applications. Die cut prepared cardstock using one of the dies from Sizzix Mixed Media #5 Die Set. Adhere pattern paper to the top of chipboard. Adhere prepared background to top of prepared chipboard. Stamp…

Kerry Engel has been very busy in her studio over the last couple of weeks, sharing and creating projects for our Creative Scrapbooker Magazine Instagram stories. Here is a super cute GET WELL tag she created on our story that had me in giggles. Kerry used Art Impressions clear stamps, Chameleon Color Tone pens, Ranger gesso and ink, and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L to create this tag.  Here is a close-up side view of the stamped image popped up with 3D Foam Squares by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L.   Be sure to follow Creative Scrapbooker Magazine on Instagram so that you do not miss any of Kerry’s awesome creations. Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! I’m back on the blog today to share with you a fun fantasy themed tag. With Fall in the air, it was fun to work with some bright and cheerful patterned paper which had me longing for some sunny weather to come back. The inspiration for my tag came from the “Always Be Yourself Unless You Can Be A Mermaid” card out of the Simple Stories Collection – Dream Big.  To create my tag, I used the Dream Big 12×12 Collection Kit from Simple Stories.  As well as the Chipboard Stickers, 4×6 Stickers and the Bits & Pieces from the Dream Big Collection from Simple Stories.  For the base of my tag, I used the Medium Etcetera Tag from Stampers Anonymous. You’ll need to choose a piece of patterned paper from the Dream Big Collection from Simple Stories to trace the chipboard tag around. Cut the…

Hey Creative Scrapbooker Fans! Katelyn Grosart here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog to share with you a fabulous coffee tag. Although I’m not a coffee drinker myself, many of my friends are, so this is a perfect tag to give to one of them. The jumping off point for my project was the new Coffee Themed Stamps by Pam Bray & Just Java Aroma Embossing Powder which are both from Emerald Creek Craft Supplies. I combined the stamps and embossing powder with Distress Oxide Ink from Ranger Ink, Patterned Paper from Wild Whisper Designs, a die from Elizabeth Craft Designs, markers from Tombow USA, Superstock from Creative Scrapbooker Magazine and adhesive from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, I was able to create my fabulous Life Happens…Coffee Helps! Tag. You’ll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage as I share with you how to recreate my tag at…

Kim Gowdy here today with a fun little, mixed media tag to share. I love that all these wonderful mixed media products have oozed into the scrapbooking and card making world. Do you? I believe that any hobby that we stick with for a long time needs to challenge us to keep us interested and engaged. Scrapbooking continues to do just that for me…from my photography to trying new products and techniques, this industry still holds my interest after 12 years! Let’s take a peek at my tag and process. Let’s create the base! Thanks for joining me. I love how my tag turned out. I’m not sure yet how I will use. It may become a scrapbook page element, I may tuck it into an art journal or I may use it on a bottle of wine to give to my hubby to celebrate a milestone anniversary. The photo…

HI Friends, and welcome to the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine Blog today.  Today it is Karan hosting the blog and i have a tag to share with you using products from 49 and Market – CLICK HERE  One of my most favorite techniques to do on tags is the “smooshing” technique and I did that and created my background here on the tag below. Tags are perfect to attach to gift bags; to a layout, they are just as easy to create as a card and you can have lots of fun creating them.   Here are some detail images of the tag: Here are some steps to get you started: 1. Using Canson watercolor paper, cut a piece measuring approximately 3.75 x 6. Banner cut the top.  I like to place blue tape on the edges of my tags so that I end up with a clean white edge when I’m done…

Hands up if you’re ready for spring… I know I am.  Nicole here on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog  and I am ready to see the grass under the blanket of snow.  Until then I have whipped up this easy to create tag celebrating flowers and the return of those singing little birds. I have used one of my favourite new products – Dina Wakley Scribble Sticks from Ranger.  Introducing a new coloring medium to the Dina Wakley Media line. Scribble Sticks are versatile, high quality pigment sticks that sketch like crayons but are water-soluble like watercolor pencils. Create backgrounds and blend color to a transparent shade using water or create bold, opaque designs, scribbles and marks on top of Dina Wakley Acrylic Paints and other mediums. Set includes 12 colors that coordinate with the Dina Wakley Media palette of color. This tag is all about scribbling and having fun.Prepare the…

Coffee Helps by Cathy Caines “Life Happens. Coffee Helps.” This bag of  beans wasn’t always busted open. Oh no.  It’s wasn’t. I finished up my projects using the Stampin’ Up! Coffee Café stamp set and co-ordinating Coffee Cups Framelits die…. … I laid them on the dining counter ready to photograph the next day when the sun rose. And then I saw this…ARGH! My son Jack thought the beans were raisins and had been fiddling around to open the bag. What’s the strangest thing is that he doesn’t like raisins.  He picks them out of the trail mix packages from Costco. But that’s when I noticed the tag. “Life Happens. Coffee Helps.” Exactly. This is it.  Life happens. Coffee is important to me.  I crave it. I drink it black and I like it super hot.  I don’t re-heat because it never tastes right after that.  I like to drink…

Hello everyone – Kerry Engel here!I’ve got a soft spot for Creative Memories. I started my scrapbooking journey with them 20 years ago. I have over 25 completed CM albums. All of my layouts have a home in one of their albums. Their latest collection is a hit with my youngest daughter. . . she  loves the  adorable big-eyed critters.   When I saw the baby animals I thought they’d rock a tag. I’ve been addicted to tags this year. I find them a fun alternative to cards and great additions to my scrapbook pages. 1. Make a “tag” base. I made the big tags using a couple of CM punches and a sheet of stickers. To start, I cut rectangles from Creative Scrapbooker Super Stock and then used the CM 4-way Corner Punch to create funky scalloped corners and oblong hole. Give stickers dimension. I stuck some of the Woodland Whimsy…
