Hello everyone! Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog playing with the Paper House Productions collection – Paradise Found Beach collection. Do you ever see a paper collection and instantly know that you have a picture that was made for that collection? Thatβs exactly what happened when I saw the Paper House Productions βParadise Foundβ collection. Iβve had this photo of my daughter on a boat cruise in Californian for about 4 years – waiting for the perfect inspiration.Β I also have to admit that Iβm addicted to Paper House Productions large image patterned papers. I love the challenge of building a layout that ties into the image on the paper.Β My goal with this layout was to keep things soft and calm like my photo, to maintain that βmagic hourβ glow and to tie in my image with the background paper. Hereβs how I went about it.…
Hello, Connie Nichol here today with an easy birthday card made from an Art Impressions stamp and die set.Β Β Art Impressions has a huge selection of different interactive stamp sets which need to be pulled, unfolded, twisted, spun or shaken.Β Go check them out. The designs will be sure to bring a big smile to your face.Β Β Who doesn’t love to get a card that flutters or wobbles? I played with the Birthday Fairy set to create a couple of cards – the set comes with the stamps, dies and an action ‘wobble’.Β You can see from the side photo that the fairy’s skirt is dimensional and mobile.Β Here’s another slightly different version of the Birthday Fairy card in royal blue. Here’s the stamp set: I stamped the fairy and her skirt with Clearsnap Top Boss ink and embossed with black embossing powder.Β I find that embossing an image…
Hi there!Β Nathalie DeSousa with you today sharing my first blog post as part of the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine team. I am very humbled and excited to share a bit of my work with you all, so what better way to show you my style than to create a 12×12 scrapbook page that combines a bit of mixed media and the beautiful Bliss Collection from Simple Stories. All those beautiful and soft colors in the collection are perfect to document spring and new beginnings, so I pulled a cut file from the Silhouette library, and backed it with papers from the collection. To add dimension to this page, some Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D Foam Squares were used to attach the cut out to the background.Β Β Β A bit of distressing on the top edge of the page provided the perfect place to add a small cluster of embellishments. Some of the floral motifs…

Jayme Loge here on this lovely Tuesday in April.Β Iβm going to confess right off the top that spring has never been my favourite season. Itβs wet, and windy and muddy and grey. But this year, with our record breaking, never ending winter I am craving spring like never before.Β Bring on the melt! Bring on the mud! Bring on the drab, dusty landscape! Bring on anything but snow for my eyes to see! As a scrapbooker, I can make these wishes come true. I escaped to my scrapbook area and dug out some favourite spring photos. Although it is too soon yet for gardening, it is one of the rituals that I love about the season. I come from a long line of gardeners, and remember many a spring day planting and hoeing and planning with my extended family. My grandparents had the most astounding gardens and I am…
Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a scrapbook layout featuring mountains and winter.Β Β Β Β IΒ know I seem to be on a bit of a Lake Louise scrapbooking binge lately, but it’s purely random and l only typically visit Lake Louise once a year.Β I happened to see thisΒ Quietfire DesignΒ quote stamp about dark pointed firs and was totally inspired to create a layoutΒ around it with pictures I snapped last month when I visited the mountains with my teenager.Β The trees were SO pretty after a huge snowfall!Β I loved the quote so much I found the rest of it on the internet in the Total Works of Lucy Maud Montgomery: The night was clear and frosty, all ebony of shadow and silver of snowy slope; big stars were shining over the silent fields; here and there the dark pointed firs stood up with snow powdering their branches and the wind…
Happy Tuesday everyone! Is the sun shining in your neck of the woods and possibly sending a spring vibe to your world? Itβs Kim here with a Tuesday With the Team layout share! My layout is NOT very springy but since we are officially still in winter, here I go! I used our January Sketchy Challenge as a starting point for my layout. Rotating it to the left seemed to work best for me. I was thrilled to pull out my Carta Bella βCabin Feverβ collection!Β From the first time I set my eyes on this collection I LOVED IT. It definitely gives off a cozy, winter vibe and was perfect for the photos I wanted to share. This collection has the sweetest accent elements in chipboard, stickers and journal cards [12×12 sheet].I love how my completed layout came together so quickly with this sketch a paper collection. Donβt be…
Hi everyone, Cathie Allan here on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog, with a few, bright, spring projects. SPRING is just around the corner and with the days getting longer , the sun shining brighter I just NEEDED to play with some fun bright colors from Clearsnap and some βspring likeβ images from Stampendous. I did not know what I wanted to create so I created 3 projects thinking I would share with you my favorite. Well β¦ I could not decide which one was βmy favoriteβ so I am sharing all 3 projects with you. I have photographed each project separately and posted those photos at the end of this blog.It all began with these rubber stamp images from Stampendous, plus a gorgeous new metal stencil.Media of choice was my Pinwheel Petal Point and re-inkers from Clearsnap, my ColorBox stylus and foam tips and a ColorBox black pigment stamp pad…
When I first picked up a brush pen 3 years ago and began practicing lettering, I quickly started to think about how I could teach others how to learn this beautiful art form of calligraphy. Soon I developed my own set of tracing worksheets (just like I used in elementary school) that would help others develop the skills to write pretty letters. Then American Crafts came along, and we collaborated to design an entire product line of pens, workbooks, practice journals and more that would make learning calligraphy easy and fun. Now I can teach workshops with my own Kelly Creates pens and workbooks! If you canβt attend a workshop, here is what you need to learn brush lettering: Workbooks, a Practice Pad, and The Deluxe Lettering Kit, which has both large and small brush tip pens for both workbooks. You could also use the Dream Pens (large brush tip)…
Hello everyone Jayme Loge here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog. I am now the mother of a fourteen-year-old girl. She is feisty and brilliant and amazing and she is going to do wonderful things in this world. She is evolving before my eyes and it is exciting to see her discover her strengths, make mistakes and make choices about whom she is going to be. Itβs lovely, and completely unbalancing. Some days she changes faster than I can keep up with and then when I think I can stretch no further, she relaxes and cocoons herself in the safety of home. I take a break from this dance by looking back at old photos and remembering all the little details of who she is and where she has come from. Itβs funny the traits that donβt change. Her hands-on approach is one of them. She loved wearing βtwirlyβ…
