What an ABSOLUTE blast! Crop 4 Kids was held last weekend in Calgary, Alberta.  This is a phenomenal event that raises money for children’s hospitals. If you ever get a chance to go to one – PLEASE do! All the money raised goes to the little people who need it the most! Scrapbooking + helping the future = AWESOME! These events are held right across Canada – so there might just be one happenning near you. Amongst several activities that are held through out the weekend – one is a layout contest. Here Jennifer Roswell is holding up one of the winners – Lynne Mizera (owner of Scrapbook Lynne’s weekend retreats) Lynne wasn’t there at the time so Jennifer is calling her on the phone to tell her the great news!!!!  This year Crop 4 Kids organizer, Jennifer Rowsell came up with a brilliantly fun and entertaining event – THE…

On March 12-13 the place to be was at the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival in Victoria British Columbia! Our team had an awesome time getting to know a ton of scrapbookers from the West Coast.  The venue was simple stunning – a historic site with gorgeous lighting! I borrowed these two photos from Cari Locken’s blog.  Cari was one of our fabulous teachers at the event who had the opportunity to teach classes in this beautiful location. Thanks Cari for sharing these photos with me! One of the highlights of this event was the Canadian Scrapbooker Make n’ Take LOONIE BAR! You got it! For a loonie you could create a gorgeous project sponsored by each of the on site scrapbooking stores! Here Christy Riopel displays some of the tickets that were collected from the loonie bar. Unfortunately, the team was so excited at the bar that we forgot to take…

Yesturday I spent the day in Calgary with Katharina getting a pile of magazine stuff done. Katharina and I both feel very fortunate that our offices are in our homes! Doing what we love and doing it in the comforts of our own environment is absolutely incredible. WE are very grateful! The day was over the top productive! Just a few shots of what we did! Editing our Web Show with the very cool Shawna! She is the amazing lady who puts together all the slices, makes the music work, fades in and fades out….and sooooooooooooo much more! We had a visit from Christy Riopel – she is the newest addition to our CS team! You will start seeing a regular Colour Corner column from Christy starting in the Fall 2010 issue.  Here she is holding a layout she designed for MondayNightClass.ca that we will be featuring in a future Web Show!…

My scrapbooking area is everyones in our house. My little people are allowed to use whatever they like AS LONG AS they put everything away when they are finished! I have been known to go completely CRAZY if there is a big mess (that I didn’t make – that might not be very fair – but its the deal in our house that everyone has to live with) The positives of this aggreement far out weigh the negatives. I am showered with albums filled with layouts that they have created – just for me (better then flowers)! I love seeing their stories and adventures through their eyes rather then mine. Their layouts inspire me and remind me what scrapbooking is really about. I have a spot on the corner of my desk that I display the latest creations on.  My daughter Hannah designed this one about me. I have to tell you it makes me giggle!…

Have you checked out our Hands On! Photography blog?   Each month, we post a new tutorial, discussing photography terms and techniques – we also encourage you to submit your photographs taken, using the current tutorial for the opportunity to have your submission published on our blog and to be entered into a random draw to win a great prize! My husband Christoph is an avid NASCAR fan and races every summer in a Super Late Model. Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine proudly sponsors the car every year!  I just love seeing our logo all over the car. It looks very cool racing around the track – and definately stands out amongst the other sponsors (i.e. HOME DEPOT, CANADIAN TIRE, JOE’s WELDING etc) I LOVE IT! We have stirred up a lot of positive attention sponsoring the car and the number of amazing scrapbookers I have met at the track is NO SURPRISE!  Scrapbookers are truly everywhere! This summer he plans to race in a new series in Saskatoon!  I thought I would share with you the poster that he made for his sponsors and to hand out on race days – pretty cool! If you are in the Saskatoon area – I will be at the race track on the dates listed on his…

After we got home from dance last night, my daughter Madeline turned on Season 1 of Glee!  I was giggling so HARD:-P .  The characters are just priceless! Needless to say – Madeline and I stayed up until 5:00AM finishing the entire series!!!!!!!!! I went to bed smiling cause I just love how it ended!!!!!! Totally looking forward to Season 2 to come out on DVD. That being said – not sure why I have to be such a compulsive maniac and watch it right to the end. Today has been filled with lots of coffee and me trying not to be grouchy! Wish me luck!
