DESCRIPTION & INFORMATION
Build your rubber-stamping confidence while creating this beautiful “passport style” journal and interior pages. Unlock the creative ability of your stamps and stamp pads as you learn several different backgrounds, stamping techniques and a gorgeous, unique “embedded design”, complete with a metallic sheen to embellish this beautiful book. The techniques taught in this class will be shown in several formats, as the ideas taught in this class are not limited to the journal. There will be a Christmas card jump-off, a scrapbook page, more journals and tags to view that have all been created with these amazing techniques. This truly is a class you do not want to miss if you want to grow your stamping abilities.

Soulbooking helps connect art with deeper matters of the heart and soul. This intro class will guide you through the process of creating a few pages of a Soulbook using mixed media, various art techniques and a “soul talk” session about butterflies that will help you learn, grow and connect with others from your heart and soul.

Using Prima Alchemy paints, waxes and art ingredients, you will create the front cover of an old encyclopedia book with lots of texture and shimmer. This class includes instructions, pictures and materials to complete inside of book at your own convenience.

In this class we will transform white paper into a double page layout that can also be unified to create an 8X8 one-of-a-special-kind “gift of a card” – the end result is your choice. You will learn how to create unique effects using beautiful stamps and stamp pads to create the background, a gorgeous frame and charming vellum embellishments. These versatile and timeless ideas taught in this class will inspire you to create more than this one project as the techniques are transferable.

This class begins with creating a set of “Faith Cards” that introduce you to various art mediums while learning assorted mixed media techniques. You will then get to enjoy a “buffet” of supplies including many faith-based products from Illustrated Faith, Sweet & Sassy and Stamps of Life to create more faith cards, a layout or bring along your personal journaling Bible, Art Journal or Bullet journal to create in!

Create a specimen with bright colorful butterflies. Going back to basics and colouring with markers. Dig through your stash and bring your favourite markers where we will blend each butterfly with bold bright colours. Challenge your skills of combining colours and blending with this stunning reverse canvas.
Please bring these supplies with you to class:

  • An assortment of markers like Stampin’ up!, Copics, Distress markers (Nicole used Distress Markers) – something that you can blend a little.
  • Sharp scissors to do some fussy cutting.
  • Adhesive such as liquid or strong tape
  • Watercolour pens to blend with

Breathe. Write. Relax. In this workshop, you will be guided through a series or lettering exercises with brush pens and learn the art of calligraphy. Using Kelly’s tracing guide worksheets, you will learn the techniques of brush script lettering that can be used on cards, scrapbook pages, art journals and more.

No experience is necessary for this watercolour workshop, where you will learn about letter styles and how to achieve some colourful effects, like rainbow and galaxy letters. You will complete two watercolour monograms suitable for framing.

 Layered Textured Canvas

DESCRIPTION & INFORMATION

In this mixed media grungy class, we will explore all levels of layering and texture with stamping, gesso and Baked Texture embossing powder. Nicole will walk you through the techniques to create your own layers and backgrounds so when you get home you will look at your supplies differently. Learning these techniques is something you can apply to all your future craft projects. This class is heavily technique based and of course messy. If it’s not messy it’s not fun.
Please bring these supplies with you to class:

  • Two ½”- 1” paint brushes for gesso and distress collage medium
  • Emboss-It (Ranger embossing ink in a dauber) is great for the Baked Texture application.
  • heat gun

  • a 4”x6” photo of your choice (can also be added after class)
