Hello Friday, so glad to see you again! Hey everyone, Kim here with a quick card share for you. I don’t know about you, but April and May have my calendar FULL of birthdays and anniversaries! As a paper crafter, people expect a homemade card and honestly, I feel a bit guilty if I don’t step up to the plate!
These cards were all made using Simple Stories Beautiful Collection. When I need to make lots of cards, I tend to put away my ink and stamps and pull out collections of papers and embellishments!
Because the colours and patterns in a collection are designed to play well together, it’s EASY to layer paper, stickers, die cuts etc. Before you know it, a handful of cards…. DONE like dinner! [Maybe dinner didn’t get made because I was making cards…just sayin!]
I made this first card simply by layering paper and stickers. The quote stickers are the perfect sentiments for my card!
My second card layers paper and chipboard die cuts. I added some subtle colour to the flower chipboard piece with my Chameleon Pens and a little piece of twine for texture!
My third and last card share, layers papers underneath a chipboard flower; also, coloured with my Chameleon Pens. Word stickers offered up a great sentiment!
One of my favourite techniques that I use often, is to layer random sizes of papers at different angles underneath my top layer. It creates lots of depth and interest and is an AWESOME way to use up small scraps!
Look to your paper collections the next time you need to make some cards, you just might get hooked on how fast they come together!
Do you have you copy of the Spring issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine? It’s still available at newsstands across North America!
