It’s the unofficial end of summer, and it makes me sad. But I can look back at the summer and say that we banged off a big number of items on my summer bucket list. This is the first year that I took time out to create a “summer things to do” list. Yes, yes, I am a Type A personality. Believe me when I say it worked great. I am a planner girl, and when I noticed a weekend with few commitments, I looked at my list and made it happen. I also booked reservations in advance. Summers in Canada are short! As such, we Canadians pack as much as we can into two or three months, making them very busy! That explains why I am sharing my July sketch in August! Enough said! July’s sketch was a simple grid, easy to work with. There really is so much you can do with this type of sketch, it’s a jumping board to creative fun! I chose to offset my grid and use three pictures! I was pleased with the end results. My four-legged Bella is often a willing subject for scrapbook pages, not so much for laying on the ground while camping! Finding “Your” Happy Place – by Cathie Allan A few weeks ago I posted a few photos on Instagram showing a project that I was working on. I had some “brand new” stencils and stamps from Magenta and I just could not wait to dive into a project. Not knowing what it should be … “Que sera sera” (if you don’t remember this song, you are younger than me, lol), I simply began playing in my art journal book. The products I used are shown in the following photo. Of course I was using my trusty pigment inkpads from Clearsnap and I threw in some stamping with white acrylic paint to get added texture. The project of course grew from what I shared on Instagram and it is now one of my projects that makes my “stampy, stencilly, inky heart” smile. Hello everyone! It’s Kelly Klapstein here today to share a layout I designed using the August Sketch and Creative Memories. Have you heard that Creative Memories has returned to the crafting industry? I know there are many of you who are thrilled about this news! I thought that their papers would be perfect to scrapbook some photos of icebergs I took while visiting Newfoundland in July. Thanks to my friend, Michelle Marks, we went “Iceberg Hunting” and found these beauties! I was in AWE. I used a couple of paper packs from Creative Memories: Neutral and Vintage. I thought the combination of blues and greys worked well for my iceberg themed page. I created the diamond pattern background layer with my Brother ScanNCut machine, cut it from watercolour paper, and then painted it in ombre blue shades with my Tombow Dual Brush Pens.
