Lately I have become a little obsessed with printing oversized photos and including those in my albums. I simply havenโt been crafting as frequently as Iโd like to and began โbatch printingโ. I decided that I wanted the photos printed. If I had the photos printed, then sometimes the stories are already told.ย As I declutter and cull my digital photos each month, I am sending a batch of photos to my local printing shop, Newfoundland Canvas. However, because I am currently printing in advance, I was picking out a couple of my favourites from each month and blowing them up to 8×11โ. Practically every other photo is printed in 3×4 so that the option of plopping photos in a โwham, bam, thank you maโamโ style pocket page is there. I will tell you though that I typically print from home, in fact, the two 8.5×11โ photos you see in…
Happy August! Every month I receive the Ali Edwards โStoryโ kit and also the โStories By the Monthโ kit. I have been a subscriber since day one and they continue to be my favourite product to reach for. Because I havenโt been as creative as I like over the past year, I have several kits unopened. Yikes. This month, I opted to grab a kit in order to absolutely crush it. Boom. I did not crush it. Insert sad face. However, the cork letters were used as a jumping off point. I finished not one but two layouts as a result. And that, my friends, is what I am calling a win. The words reminded me of a couple sets of photos. Next thing I knew it, I managed to have two layouts going at the same time. With the Pink Paislee Bloom Street embellishment pack and papers in hand,…
Itโs taken me a little while to capture the memories since I gave birth to my third baby at the beginning of January of last year. Slow and steady Iโve been able to get back to my craft room. Itโs not often that you see a layout from me with so many busy colours but I am in love with the richness of these blues by Vicky Boutin in this 6×8โ paper pack. I selected two pieces and trimmed them down to create this 8 x 10.5โ page. These two boys are explorers and adventurers around our home. Most days they come back to grab a popsicle and off they go again. The Wander embellishments worked perfectly with the story. When that happens, you shouldnโt have to think too hard. After a little while I had placed a few key stickers around the photo. The little word strips in the…
These are the moments I want to remember. This is what itโs all about. How lucky am I to be staying at Grandmaโs house and playing cards every night? At 84 years young my grandparents are living on their own 8 hours away from our family. They contribute to their community and go back and forth to their cabin. Itโs amazing and I am so grateful for their health.ย So, when visiting Grandmaโs house, I canโt help but feel like I want to freeze time. In some way, memory keeping does just that โ allows me to just freeze time. To document this memory, I printed the photo in black and white. It just felt right. Using the Stampinโ Up! Hand Penned Designer Series Paper, I cut two squares and halved them into triangles in order to anchor to photo. The Blossoms in Bloom die cut was a perfect backing…
Hello! Kim here with my layout share inspired by the January Sketchy Challenge! I LOVE when I complete the sketchy challenge in the same month it was posted…it feels like a little win! My husband and I were eating a meal that we ordered for curbside pickup and the bag everything was packaged in screamed to be recycled! My BIG title was actually cut from my bag ~ how fun is that? The rest was easy! I use Lightroom Mobile on my phone and iPad and let it do a task it does well…I searched for โfoodโ photos! Once I picked the photos to use, I created a collage in the Project Life app, which made it easy to print! Diptic is another app I use for this task! I love my new Tonic Studios’ Guillotine cutter – it cut my little prints perfectly! Itโs the perfect size for card…
Hi Friends! If you are like me, crafting is more than a hobby. Crafting is helping me get through this pandemic. Specifically scrapbooking typically helps me zone in on the happy memories. Todayโs page shows my daughter and her two friends going to their first dance. At the time I was more excited about it than the girls as I was nostalgic thinking about when I was a tween. It didnโt go exactly as planned โ and for that reason, I laughed out loud creating the page. And that. That was just what I needed at that moment. This project began with the Stampinโ Up! In Good Taste 12×12 patterned paper. I am drawn to this paper. It’s super versatile for both memory keeping and card making. Because I am trying to close out my November 2019 scrapbook album, I knew what photos to use. I then began to write…
I just donโt even know what to say. The world took a one-eighty and I am okay one day and not okay the next. Mental wellness is high on the priority list. For me, that means using scrapbooking as a tool to stay positive. Using words to keep some control in a society where I have no control. When I create, I can find happiness. And right now, itโs more important than ever. Today I am sharing the words and the page that I documented to help me move through my feelings. โWe made it to April. We are more than two weeks in. It still feels unbelievable. It still feels scary. But we keep trying to focus on the good. Thereโs so much good. And the sun will come out again.ย ย ย ย My anxieties and worries are slowly reducing every day. There are still financial worries but largely…
This is my six-year-old son Jack. He absolutely loves dinosaurs. So, when we went on vacation to Florida a couple of weeks ago we were sure to check out Dinosaur World. Dinosaur World did not disappoint. It was clean and quiet. It had a perfect balance of something for the tiniest littles to the adults. And letโs get serious here โ dinosaurs are cool no matter what your age. So, when Stampinโ Up! released the Dinoroar Product Suite, it was a must-buy for me. I just didnโt realize it was going to come in handy so quickly. Like a handful of others, Stampinโ Up! has made life easy for you by having sweet images on their Dinoroar Designer Series Paper that can be cut out using their Dino Days framelits rather than only the stamps. This bundle has been a favourite of mine hands down. I mean, I canโt see…
Hello everyone! Cathy Caines here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog saying HELLO to the NEW Magnolia Lane collection by Stampin’ Up! Itโs the most exciting time of year for Stampinโ Up! demonstrators worldwide. Tomorrow, June 4th marks the release of the new 2019-2020 annual catalogue. While many of the products are not available until tomorrow, I am able to show you the Magnolia Lane Product Suite. I am in love with florals lately and so this product suite really spoke to me. Ironically I have been working hard to complete my 2016 scrapbook album and this photo of my daughter in the sunset was perfect for this suite. Since the pattern of this Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper is quite busy, I layered the new colored vellum by Stampinโ Up! behind the photo. This helped move the focus of this scrapbook page from the flowers to the photo.…
