Hello and happy May! Kim here with a colourful layout share today using products a from Simple Stories, Impression Obsession, Clearsnap and Glue Dots! I have been emptying my craft room as we are doing some renovations once again on our home. During the tedious job of moving all my craft supplies I came across two photos from our Crop & Cruise vacation from over 10 years ago. This was actually the first time I met team Creative Scrapbooker and have grown some wonderful friendships from this holiday. I wanted my layout to be happy and summery, but needed a simple background as the pictures themselves were “busy”! I opted to build my layout on a piece of Creative Scrapbooker Superstock. I pulled out my Simple Stories’ Hello Summer collection. The colours worked perfectly and the embellishments fit the theme of my photos. I first stamped the background with a…
Hello everyone, Kerry Engel here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog playing with the Explorer Journal by Momenta. When I first saw this glittery Momenta journal I envisioned a metallic-y, jewel-studded boho book. I was thinking of gold glitter, soft jute, and beach beads. To achieve my boho look I took apart an old necklace to create dangling embellishments and I strung beads on a fishing wire. I tied lots of jute and attached tags that protruded and extended over the sides. The Explorer Journal is made of a heavy, sturdy, leather-like fabric. To embroider on it I pre-punched holes with an awl. I stitched the flowers using the lazy daisy stitch and cotton thread. I learned how to embroider from my Baba (grandmother) way back in the ’70s when boho first was cool. Shiny brads completed my front cover. I wanted to cover up the stitches on the…
Hello everyone, Cathie Allan here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog playing with Dare 2B Artzy! While demoing and doing make’n takes in the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine booth in Dallas at the Stamp & Scrap Expo I had the absolute pleasure to meet Cindy Sartain, owner of Dare 2B Artzy, stamps, dies & stencils. Their booth was directly across from ours & oh, my goodness …. I fell in love at first sight with her products. Of course, I had to bring some home to introduce her stamps to my ink 🙂 I have created 2 awesome quick & easy cards using two of her sets and one of her stencils. I kept the techniques so simple & fun that if you follow my articles in the fabulous, quarterly book, “Creative Scrapbooker Magazine” (you know it is “way” past “just” a magazine) you will probably know how I achieved…

Hi friends- Eileen Hull here from sunny and warm Virginia! Yesterday it hit 70 degrees out and it seems I caught a touch of spring fever. I decided to make a thank you card in pretty pastels to celebrate spring. Using Dies to Make Stamps I don’t know about you, but nothing makes me happier than finding multiple ways to use my dies. I decided to go through my Thinlits collection and create stamps from some of my favorite elements. I also used a frame shape from the Trinket Box die and was happy that it fit perfectly on the front of an A-2 card! Such a fun way to use your dies. My ColorBox Blends inks by were used to stamp the design – Blends are an applicator, inker, and re-inker all in one. They have ten times as much ink as a stamp pad. Blends are a Crafters…

Good “almost” Valentine’s Day to you all. Creating a message of love for someone that is dear to you takes that message to an entirely new level. Your message becomes a keepsake that your loved one will treasure for many years to come and possibly if your loved ones are like my husband …. it’ll be cherished forever! You can spend hours on a handmade card or you can use extraordinary products to make it look like you spent hours. “Painting with glitter” is a simple, fun technique that always takes a card to the next level. You can do the whole card as a “glitter painting” OR you can simply add a glitter, painted embellishment. In the spring issue of “Canadian Scrapbooker” 2011 I shared this technique in my “It’s All About Rubber” article. Since then our publication has gone international and therefore the name of this wonderful magazine…
