Hello everyone Christy Riopel here on the blog today! I am all about creating layers these days. Stamps are a great way to add layers without adding bulk to your page. This Magenta Crafty Secrets Swirl is one of the most used stamps I own. It so versatile that I have yet to run out of uses for it. I love how it peaks out from under my stickers. Supplies: Magenta stamps, Fancy Pants Designs patterned paper and stickers, May Arts Ribbon, gesso, Clearsnap ColorBox Chalk Ink, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L,  Photo by Allison Orthner Have a wonderful week everyone! Quick Note Cards Brought to you by Magenta Rubber Stamps, White Embossing Powder & Ink … lovely, lovely Clearsnap pigment Ink. by Cathie Allan Yes, I know … the word “quick” and “Cathie inspired ideas” are not two things you usually see together BUT what you don’t know is I do a lot of “quick stamping techniques”, what I don’t usually do is put them in a blog post or put them in my magazine articles. Why … simply cause I love to give you “more” for your stamping buck when you take a class from me or when you execute one of my projects that I publish.  I actually love making cards and here I have made “notecards” that literally take me less than 10 minutes from start to finish.  One of my fav’s is to simply stamp an image in “frost white” pigment ink and emboss with white…

Build – with Frugal Metal Embellishments Featuring Graphic 45 In my house, there always seems to be bits of metal laying around – such as screws, bolts, washers and various other whatnots – picked up from who knows where and brought home because you never know when you might need it.  LOL.   I was tidying up one day and the metal washers caught my eye as a potential embellishment because they are flat and lightweight.  I repurposed most of the washers on this layout from my husband’s stash, but they are also very inexpensive to purchase at a hardware store, usually about 15 cents each depending upon the size. The Typography collection from Graphic 45 was perfect for this layout.  It is simply gorgeous. I used my favourite chalk ink in ‘Blackbird’ and a foam applicator by Clearsnap to smudge the edges of the layout in black and give…

Desiree Saskiw here! I must admit that I had taken a stamping hiatus for some time, but this fun Magenta “Savvy Symbols” stamp set inspired me to pull of the ink and embossing powders and get to work! I have always been drawn to using circles as part of my paper creations so this birthday card was no exception. I enjoyed the contrast that was created between the use soft lines in the circles and hearts, with the straight lines of the arrows. The number stamps were a fun addition; counting up to the Happy 10th birthday for my niece Jaeanna! SUPPLIES: Magenta stamps, Clearsnap ink, DCWV patterned paper, May Arts Ribbon, Stampin’ Up! embossing powder, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L 3D foam squares and tape runner. Happy Stamping

Kim Gowdy here, for Tuesday with The Team. Today I am sharing a project I made to showcase some hummingbird pictures I took, during a workshop I attended in May. The accordion file frame was created using the SIZZIX Bigz Die; “Accordion Flip – 3D”. The first time I saw this die in use I immediately fell in love! Cathie Allan was making Christmas Cards for her family with it, and I ordered it online that same day! For this project I used Canadian Scrapbooker’s Superstock. It is a heavy weight, bright white cardstock that is sturdy and holds up well with layers of ink, paint and mixed media products. If you have never worked with it, I’d highly recommend trying it out! I applied cream acrylic paint on the Magenta Bubble Wrap Border stamp and stamped it on each of my die cut pieces. …

Hello everyone – Christy Riopel here! I love Core’dinations ColorCore pre-embossed cardstock. It makes a great base for a mixed media technique page. I started by dry brushing gesso over the entire surface of the teal paper. Don’t add water as that may lessen the embossing a bit. I then added Clearsnap ColorBox dye ink to the raised surfaces by directly rubbing the ink pad on them. I love the how antique the finished look is. I used Core’dinations ColorCore die cuts on the page as some of the many layers I have under my photo. Supply list: Core’dinations ColorCore paper and die cuts, May Arts Ribbon, paper doily, gesso, Clearsnap ColorBox dye ink, Marvy pen, Beacon Adhesive, Photo by Allison Orthner.
