Crazy Cats can Dream too! Nicole here share this funny little card and an easy tutorial for a background. This card is inspired by my crazy cat. She ate my stamps…yep you saw that right. She ate my Upstream stamps. I hauled out my Upstream stamps and Crazy Cats stamps and Sizzix Crazy Cat dies. I cut Dream with the Alphanumeric die on Sizzix leather paper. I stamped this crazy cat onto watercolor paper inked with Ranger Archival Jet Black. I used Ranger Ink Distress Markers hickory smoke, carved pumpkin, twisted pumpkin and vintage photo to create my tabby crazy cat. Just like Miss Flurry… the stamp eating cat. I just got the Sizzix Crazy Cat dies so it was so great to not fussy cut. Now that the Crazy Cat is quickly cut I can start the background. I used my Ranger Distress Ink to ink up my Upstream…

Happy Tuesday! Tracy McLennon here today on the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine blog! Life In Color, what a great name for a collection…nicely played Simple Stories. That being said, I love the colours in this collection, so vibrant and rich. I have always loved earthy tones, I think it comes from the fact that I have a red tinge to my hair…pinks and purples just do not work for me. But since Sean and his beautiful girls came into my life, they have brought me an entire rainbow of colours I can now craft with! Now I’m living a Life In Color! Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a scrapbook layout featuring a Quietfire Design stamp and an assortment of Elizabeth Craft Designs dies and patterned paper. I love using quotes on my scrapbook pages and am often inspired by the stamps I find on the Quietfire Designs website. Elizabeth Craft Designs has just released some 6×6 paper packs featuring close up phototographs taken by Els van de Burgt of stone, wood and metal. Pretty cool idea! For the page title, I just used the word ‘Happy’ from the Happy Anniversary die set and sponged it with some Clearsnap ink to take the edge off of the white cardstock. The Stitched Oval dies are one of my favourite ECD sets. The sizes and shapes seem to be just right for stamped sentiments and I adore the perforated edges. A nice elegant look with no fuss. The little pail and shovel I used as…

Hello again, Nicole here and I am back to share this woody tag I made to show off the Sizzix Evergreen die. I love to get the most out of my dies and think of different ways I can use them. I love to create layers and texture along the way. I spritzed watercolor paper water then sprayed Ranger Distress Spray Stain peeled paint, lucky clover and twisted citron. I cut the greens from the tattered pinecone die and added a few forest moss Core’dinations ColorCore Cardstock greens too. Then I glued them all to a piece of matboard then ran it through on the Evergreen die. Creating this 3D Tree. I stamped the Kraft tag with using picket fence distress paint then inked the edges with ground espresso. With some scrap inked up watercolor paper I cut out “Moments” from the Handwritten Journey Thinlit. I used this Idea-Ology Flashcard trimmed…
Today on our blog, Kerry Engel is sharing some beautiful watercolour effects on her scrapbook page using Tombow Dual Brush Pens. I love making my own embellishments. This layout began with a doodled flower that I created last summer. I actually have a stash of Tombow flowers just waiting for a story that needs telling (and embellishing). It’s so easy to make your own embellishments with Tombow Dual Brush Pens. In this layout I used the Tombows to create the following accents: 1. Journaling strips 2. Watercoloured flowers 3. Hand lettered title. Make your own customized journaling strips 1. Layer different colors of Tombow ink on watercolour or mixed media paper. 2. Wash with water to create an ombre, watercolour effect. 3. Let it dry then run it through a printer. The first time round I cut the paper into thin journaling strips. I thought my hand lettering was too…
Ah…..Connie Nichol here today. There is nothing like sitting down with a crisp new issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine and a cup of tea. Especially in the summer when you are sitting outside in a lawn chair listening to the birds singing and the grass feels good under your bare feet. I snapped this picture a couple of summers ago, and it still makes me smile when I look at it. To scrapbook this picture, I used products from Fancy Pants Designs Office Suite line. It’s a very versatile paper line containing everything from soft pastels and delicate florals to bold black and white patterns. It would work for everything from baby photos to travel or wedding photos. The Office Suite alphabet set is big and bold and makes a page title just pop. This alphabet set comes in the paper pack or you can buy it separately. You can also…
