Hello everyone, Karen Ellis here. The Spring 2017 issue of the Creative Scrapbooker Magazine will be showcasing projects featuring different Wax Crayon Resist techniques. I completed a layout for this feature and wanted to show you how I created a crayon resist here on the blog. The first thing I did was create a flower doodle on a piece of white Super Stock (any watercolour weight paper would work) using plain ol’ wax crayons I picked up at the dollar store. Using a set of watercolours I had on hand, I washed the image with the paints and a wet water brush. You’ll see right away that the wax will resist the colour. If you’d like to see a cleaner resist, feel free to remove some of the moisture from the doodled image with a small piece of paper towel or lightly remove with a baby wipe. Once dry,…
