Good Morning Creative Scrapbookers! It’s a gorgeous day in Alberta, after some not so nice ones! I thought it would be nice to celebrate this beautiful morning with a creative space share from here, in our own stomping grounds! Today’s ‘Where You Create’ is from Paula Doran, in the lovely community of Sherwood Park. I’m a bit biased because Sherwood Park is my home as well! Paula is sharing a few photos of her beautiful space that has evolved after several years of water damage in her basement! She writes: “I have attached ‘Where I Create’ photos, although this is only about 1/4 of my crafting supplies! [LOL] The rest are in a storage room. I LOVE my space because, from 2010 – 2017 I did not have an area that was inspiring. We had water in our basement. Until we could repair and re-do our basement, I had a…

Hello Creative Scrapbookers! We have a treat for you today! The first Where You Create blog post in a long time! We had a busy end to 2018 and start to 2019! Not only are the winter months busy blog months with so many holidays, Creativation and give-aways but for many they are not months that allow for great indoor photos as it can be so dark! Our submissions of your creative spaces drop off in those months. We are back with a few ready to share and sure hope you take advantage of these brighter months to snap a few photos and send them to us! Today, let’s take a peek into Tammy Hawes lovely space, this bright room is well organized and would be the perfect place to create for hours at a time! Here’s what Tammy shared about her space: “I have been a scrapbooker for 20…

SCHOOL’S OUT FOR SUMMER! We have a long weekend ahead of us – YAHOO! We all grew up with our parents yelling at us to get outside in the summer. I did the same to my son when he chose Gameboy over gorgeous summer weather! Then along comes Jomelle Gomez with a craft room share; and honestly…you could lock me up in there and throw away the key…NEVER let me out! You are in for a treat! Hi! My name is Jomelle and this is my craft room.   I can just stay here all day long playing with all my planner goodies. I fell in love with the EZ View desk from The Original Scrapbox. It displays some of my favorite embellishments. I also wanted to display my planner collection. I love to decorate my desk and showcase the current collection that I am working on for my DT projects.…

Are your kiddos getting excited for summer vacation? Are you? Count down is on! Let’s get into Natalie’s oasis…it’s gorgeous and a treat for our eyes! Hi Kim! I just wanted to shoot you a few photos of my craft space in a rare state of cleanliness. I love my little scrapbooking oasis decorated in a girly style with peach walls, white and turquoise accents. Thanks so much! Natalie Dill A big thank you to Natalie for letting us into this awesome room! Keep sending along your photos! We have more spaces to share and of course we want yours too! You can see our past, featured scrapbooking spaces anytime on our blog. They live…

Hey Everyone! Kim here with another wonderful, creative space to share that will have you thinking about an enchanted place most of us know and love; A Hundred Acre Wood. I just love Carilyn’s photos and the story behind her themed crafting space, I’m sure you will love it too! Good afternoon Kim, I have contemplated this day for quite a while, I am so excited to share with Creative Scrapbooker Magazine; my submission for “Where I Create” – it is one of my favourites! The challenge I faced with creating my Craft studio, is that I enjoy a wide variety of crafts; from scrapbooking to knitting, quilting and card-making…just to name a few. This space had to fulfill that wide range of hobbies. Secondly, the space is in my basement, with a small window, so I wanted to have it light and bright.  The concept evolved into wanting this…

WHERE YOU CREATE is heading to Oakville, Ontario to check out Connie Evans’ wonderful, bright scrapbooking space! We know you will just LOVE it! Multi-Tasking Family Room Hi Kim, This is the Family room in our house which we turned into my Scrapbook Room. It is also referred to as the Craft Room, the Cat Cave and the Girl Cave.  Thankfully we have a teenage son who has as much computer gear as I have paper so he uses the Rec Room in the basement. We have moved five times since my hobby started so we’ve designed many scrapbook rooms.  When looking for a house it must have craft room space.  This room is about 17’ x 10’.  There is a lounging area that takes up just over a third of the room just in case my husband or son would like to hang out with me while I’m crafting…

March, in like a lion, out like a…. LION???? I don’t remember being prepared for this scenario in grade school! Is anyone else, just “pooped” with winter? On this Good Friday, let’s think of REbirth, REnewal, REcharge, REst and REjoice! Let’s all happily move onto April and all things SPRING! Move along March…we’RE done with you! That’s a whole lot of “RE’s”!! [Definition of re- in English: re- PREFIX  /  1-once more; afresh; anew] Which leads us to this wonderful picture that Andrea Bjork, from Jamestown, NY, sent to us, sharing where she cREates! A room for Bible journaling seems perfect for this Easter weekend! We converted a small bedroom into my office and it has become quite a haven for me!  It is where I do all of my Bible Journaling. Submit your photos! We continue to always be looking for your submissions! Don’t be shy; send them along! Have you…

Welcome to another WHERE YOU CREATE post. If you are a fan of Tim Holtz, Ranger or Sizzix I know you will love the craft space we are about to share. Even if your creative style differs, we are confident you too will swoon over Nicole Wright’s scrapbooking room. Her craft room is not big…but WOWSERS, it packs a punch! In Nicole’s Words I have a very small but mighty craft space. This 8×12 room is designed to maximize space and functionality with storage on walls.  I create on an 80+ year old oak desk belonging to my husband’s grandfather. Everything is designed around this vintage centrepiece. Wire baskets hold my stamps and apple crate boxes house my extensive Sizzix library.  IKEA wire shelves are perfect for all my Ranger inky things. Glass jars are full of seasonal embellishments, twine and paper dolls. Floating shelves show off my favorite pieces I…

Creative spaces and the 1st of September! Hope everyone is gearing up for a wonderful long week-end, it’s like the last hoorah before we get back into routine again. My son is no longer in school, but I must admit September routines are like resolutions in January…the are deeply engrained! I look forward to spending more time in my creative space as the weather cools. We’ll keep our intro short today as Alyson Mayo has a great photo share for us…here we go! Let’s take a peek… I have been told several times that I have a very interesting (and organized) creative space. I actually deal with diagnosed OCD and it manifests itself in the form of perfectionism so I can’t stand disorganization. I also love the colour turquoise so that was a huge factor when choosing elements for my space.I am fortunate to have a large room in my…

Do you want to know something? It may sound crazy…this will be the LAST Where You Create share before the kids go back to school! Where the heck did summer go? Hoping yours has been as awesome as mine, though I have worked lots, my family managed time for holidays and fun. We must, summers can be short in Alberta, Canada. That being said, I refer to “summer” as the school holidays…we still have lots of time for wonderful weather, be sure to get out and enjoy it! …BUT! While we continue to have lovely day light…get your camera out and snap a few shots of your creative spaces and fill up my email with your WYC submissions! This week we are heading south to Hanover, Pennsylvania, USA! My name is Anita Fordyce and I live in Hanover, PA, which is near Gettysburg.  I have been scrapbooking for about 20…
