Hello! Kim here again today shining our CSM spotlight on a company that is dear to our hearts, Heartfelt Creations! I hope to share some fun facts about this family company as well as a layout using their Tropical Paradise collection, just one of many favourite product lines they create.WHO THEY ARE This lovely family owned company got started in 1997 by Linda Bontrager, wearer of many hats: CEO, main artist, passionate scrapbooker, stamper, mother, wife…the list is long! I encourage you to read Linda’s fascinating letter about discovering and growing her passion for her creative life and family! I have always sensed that passion and love runs this company, even before taking the time to learn more about them, as women we often have good intuition! My thoughts are validated when I read this: “We exist to dynamically inspire, uplift, and add value to each person that comes in…

While my layouts are usually less is more, and not full of patterned paper, I wanted to play around with paper on this one…I of course had to add a few dies as accents on my layout. This picture of my kids is from when they went zip lining in Maui a few years back.  Its one of those few times where they are both looking at you, smiling, and not making weird or funny faces…you know how it is sometimes.  😉 I started with a neutral base for my layout, and thought I would add some fun patterned paper. I hand cut a few tag shapes from the patterns and layered them next to my photo. Using my Spellbinders Prizm die cutting and embossing machine I used varying elements from the Spellbinders S2-216 Die D-Lights Amused 1 and Spellbinders  S2-227 Die D-Lites Springtime sets to create little accents in the…

Mini Cake-Topper Banner Featuring Spellbinders It’s never been easier to create a custom party suite using the new Spellbinders ® Prizm™ die-cutting machine and Die D-lites® die templates. The mini cake-topper banner is a cinch to make using the Party Banners die. After die-cutting, simply hot glue to twine and embellish with die-cut flowers and small jewels. Use small alphabet stickers to spell out any sweet sentiment your heart desires. Little die-cut cupcakes tie the invitation and party favor together in the sweetest way. Shiny gold cardstock and 3-D foam dots give both projects an extra pop and shine! Here is an up close look at the party favor and invitation. Entering the Heartfelt Creations booth at CHA is like walking into a flower garden! The newest release is “Sugar Hollow” featuring the cutest little owl. As per other Heartfelt Creations collections, Sugar Hollow products include paper packs, stamps and die sets. The projects on display for Sugar Hollow were so sweet. There was a sneak peek of the new upcoming February release called Sunrise Lily. Stunning! There were so many gorgeous projects from various collections, including the current popular line “Coffee Talk.” The “All Glammed Up” collection looks fabulous on display. Every shelf in the booth was filled with stunning paper crafts created with both current and older collections. The 3D Flip Fold Album is perfect for the scrapbooker who loves mini albums with lots of pockets and interaction. Walking into the Sizzix booth, my heart pounds with excitement…the displays always impress! Although Sizzix is branching out into the fabric industry, the focus is paper crafting. Along with embossing folders, Sizzix is probably most well-known for dies and die cutting. The Tim Holtz “Alterations” line is still very popular. There is a new Vagabond 2, the electronic version of a Big Shot. Accompanying the Vagabond 2 are new tools and products, even storage cases for embossing folders and dies. The Big Shot has a new friend! A storage caddy! It fits on the side and attaches to the Big Shot. We all like to stay organized and this caddy will surely help! Sizzix has also released patterned paper pads that fit perfectly through the Big Shot and Vagabond without cutting down to size. Cutting pads are now in 4 different colours…so you can’t lose them on your studio desk…

Day 2 of our CHA Review brings us into the Elizabeth Craft Designs booth.  And you are going to “DIE” when you see all these wonderful products! (Hint:  Die Cutting Dreams Ahead!) Looking at the “Susan’s Garden” collection of dies is like stepping into a beautiful real life garden of projects. There are varying die sets that make varying dimensions of so many flowers. I had the pleasure of meeting Susan Tierney-Cockburn, the creative mind behind the stunning floral dies. Did you know about the tiny ladybug that is found in all of Susan’s designs? Karen Burniston is another incredibly talented designer who has a line of well-known 3D interactive die sets. Her Engineering background has produced the fun die sets called “Pop It Ups.” One theme is “Hot Air Balloons.” Jinks the monkey is new and oh so cute, with a coordinating bananas embossing folder! Baker the Beaver is…
