In loving memory of Christy Riopel – here is a page Christy created that we never got around to publishing and we no longer have the supply list for. This layout stopped me in my tracks when I started getting this weeks feature ready. It makes me remember all her life reflections, her thoughtfulness and all her wisdom. Scrapbook your goals. Tell your story. All the details. It is what you leave behind and your friends and family will cherish them like gold. Here is a blog post from Christy from a few years ago for you to enjoy. Written in Christy’s words. The other day I was working on this layout with the fabulous paper and embellishments from FarmHouse Paper company and May Arts ribbon and I really felt like the beautiful rustic quality needed to be accented and off set with a little glitter. Perplexed with how to add it, I decided not to over think it and grabbed my trusty Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L tape runner and added stripes of the tape runner over the paper. I then poured Craft& Glitz Glamour Glitter all over the tape and burnished it with my finger. I poured off the excess glitter and my paper was ready to build my layout on top off. The glittery stripes add a great level of texture and interest. This simple technique, done with a versatile adhesive…
On Sunday August 21 our beloved colleague, Christy Riopel, passed away. Christy was a contributing editor, designer and writer for Creative Scrapbooker Magazine for the past 6 years. Beyond the magazine, Christy was a close friend who will be deeply missed. In loving memory of Christy – each and every Saturday, we will be celebrating her art in a regular blog feature called #RememberingChristy Here we will share one or two of Christy’s projects to inspire, to teach and to remember this amazing artist. This Saturday we thought it perfect to re-post this project Christy created of herself and her wonderful husband Mike. Family was everything to Christy and her love for her husband shines through in this gorgeous project. Enjoy.
