I am a big fan of “fussy cutting” and paper layering so the Core’dinations ColorCore cardstock was the perfect choice for this project. I created texture on the papers with the Sizzix template and then sanded the paper to really make the pattern stand out. I love sanding the papers and the seeing the two-tone effect because it adds a rustic, roughness that is perfect for scrapbooking my boys. SUPPLIES: Core’dinations ColorCore cardstock, graphic 45 patterned paper, chipboard and alphabet stickers, Sizzix dies and embossing folder, May Arts Ribbon, Gesso, Beacon Adhesives Zip Dry Liquid glue. Thanks for looking

Hi Everyone!  Jodi Willton   here today, to share with a little project using DCWV WHITEBOARD paper (yes, I said WHITEBOARD!).  I don’t know about you, but my toddler LOVES to use paper, and more paper and more paper. As soon as I saw that DCWV has whiteboard paper, I knew I had to create something that would be reusable for her! So I started by spray painting a clipboard white. (Be sure to use a couple of coats). Next I measured my clipboard, then cut the whiteboard paper to just fit on top of the clipboard. I used my Beacon Adhesives 3 in 1 glue to ensure the paper is adhered really well!  Next I used the Vintage Basics Stack and added 1 inch paper borders to the edges of the clipboard. I added a cute little punched out heart and circle to accent the clip at the top.…

I know there are many of us in love with the gorgeous styles of stamps, dies and papers designed by Heartfelt Creations.  Their booth at CHA was sooo beautiful! I think this paper crafted dress form captures the essence of this wonderful company! Their floral dies are…well…to “die” for.  This is evident on all their projects on display. Their newly released “Majestic Morning” collection includes a paper pack, dies and stamps.  It’s gorgeous! All collections on display are stunning, actually. You can use Heartfelt Creations products to design scrapbook layouts and paper crafts too! Isn’t this birdhouse fabulous? Seeing this wall of layouts in their booth was inspirational. This layout is one of my favourites!  How elegant! Valentines and Easter projects were also on display. Honestly, my head was spinning…I’d never seen so many amazing projects on display all in one place! Walking…

We Were Framed, Honest! Last summer we picked up a big frame from the local thrift shop and drug it around to various places to use in photographs. This is one of our favourites of our daughter and nephew at the lake. SUPPLIES: Pink Paislee patterned paper, stickers and chipboard, Magenta Stamp, Clearsnap ink, The Crafter’s Workshop stencils, Bazzill Basics Paper cardstock, May Arts ribbon, white gel pen, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. I used the Pink Paislee – Hey Kid collection For the background I used one of our my favourite stamps from Magenta To create the background, I sprayed Clearsnap’s smooch spritz through a couple of The Crafter’s Workshop templates, and then smeared the inky side of the template onto the paper. You can’t see the patterns, but it gave the mottled and messy effect I was looking for. I then used some Chalk ink on Magenta’s dotty…

By Connie Nichol with Fancy Pants Designs, May Arts ribbon, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and Beacon Adhesive Supplies:  Bazzill Basics Paper cardstock, Fancy Pants Designs patterned paper, stickers and wood title, May Arts ribbon, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L  and Beacon Adhesive. I love pretty much all products by Fancy Pants Designs but the Collecting Moments  line  released in the summer of 2013 is one of my favourites.   I find that the colours and patterns are perfect for all sorts of projects – girl layouts, boy layouts, cards – you name it.  Here’s a layout I did featuring some silly selfie photos I took with my friends Kim and Jackie on a recent trip to Nova Scotia.  When I look at these pictures, I am instantly transported back to Mavillette Beach and the feeling of that wind!!!  I used May Arts Ribbon natural burlap string to mimic the energy of the wind…

Imagine, Explore, Play by Jayme Loge I recently got my hands on some new DCWV stacks and fell in love (LOVE!) with the ‘Vintage Collector’ line. It is perfect for my girly-girl with wild hair and something askew child- pretty with a touch of shabby!. As soon as I saw the papers I knew they would work with some photos we took at the lake. Sketch books in hand, we took a long walk down the weedy beach. The photos are some of my very favorites ever!  I look at them and I can hear her contentedly humming as she picked flowers, checked out snail shells and danced a story for all creation on an abandoned dock. How I love that girl… Supplies Used: DCWV patterned paper, May Arts Ribbon, Clearsnap ink and embossing powder, Bazzill Basics cardstock, Sizzix die, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. I pulled out some of…

Making a Ribbon Mat for Your Page I love the texture of ribbons and I am always looking for a new way to use it on my page. In this layout I created a mat with pieces of May Arts ribbons. I started with Be Creative Sookwang double sided tape, a big pile of awesome May Arts ribbon and a piece of scrap chipboard. I then put two strips of tape down each side of the chipboard. I cut several strips of ribbon just a bit longer then the chipboard. I attached the strips to the tape on one side. Wrapped it around the front and then attached it to the other side. I added some sheer ribbons and smaller ribbons over top of the first layer to make it even more textured. My finished mat was then beautiful and ready to attach to my page. Beautiful,…

Hello Canadian Scrapbookers! Kelly here, and I’m really excited to share with you today here on the Canadian Scrapbooker blog.  One of my favourite lines I enjoy working with is Graphic 45  They launched their designs in the paper crafting world 4 years ago, and since day one, I have been eager to get my crafty hands on their products.  Their beautiful patterned papers make a vintage statement, and every new release inspires creativity. Some of the collections I’ve loved in the past six months are “A Ladies Diary,” “Happy Haunting,” “Bird Song,” “Nutcracker Sweet” and the newest calendar line called “Place in Time.” The new calendar line “Place in Time” has so many paper crafting possibilites.  I decided to design a 12 x 12 calendar album as a birthday present for my mother, using photos of herself from her own scrapbooks.  In fact, I’m now teaching this album as…
