Another fun sketch for April! This sketch designed by Sue Sykes was really fun to play with this month. I used papers, alphas and embellishments exclusively from the Simple Stories “I AM” Collection! As always this collection is full of fantastic colors, images, journal cards and embellishments. It makes putting a layout together pretty quick and easy! Here is my finished layout. Not often do I create a page just about me, but this collection inspired me to do so! I am hopeful in years to come; my family will appreciate me stepping outside of my comfort zone to tell a story about me! I challenge you to do the same…it’s OK to keep it simple! One other product I did add to this layout was Clearsnap iZink. I mixed the Caviar with some water to make the grey spray you see on the background! Easy Peasy…DONE! …

Today on our blog we welcome our guest Cari Locken, who is part of the Simple Stories Design Team! Hello to all you Canadian Scrapbooker fans! I’m thrilled to be here on the CS blog today because it holds a special place in my heart. I was a part of the original design team when the magazine first came out in the winter of 2005!! I still remember Jackie emailing me and asking me if I would like to be a part of something very exciting!! After many years of creating for the magazine (almost 10 years!!) I decided it was time for me to leave last year as my life and job related activities were taking me in other directions, and my time was limited in terms of scrapbooking. I did, however, continue on with some amazing companies out there and one of them is Simple Stories. I’m…
featuring Sizzix Eclips2 electronic die cutting machine, Core’dinations cardstock, Simple Stories patterned paper and chipboard stickers Ha! It’s not often you run into Marilyn Monroe (since it has been reported she died in 1962), but on a vacation in California, we were happy to see her sitting on a chair in Universal Studios Hollywood. My husband was thrilled to have a photo taken with her. The April Sketch from the Canadian Scrapbooker Sketchy Challenge was perfect for scrapbooking these pictures that I took with my phone. Rather than the circles shown in the sketch, I considered using stars but finally settled on diamonds, since don’t you know, Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend. I cut the diamonds on Core’dinations Black Magic cardstock with my Sizzix Eclips2 electronic die cutting machine. The basic shapes that are supplied with this machine are so handy. I just dragged and dropped the squishy diamond shape…

I’ve been married for 14 years and have 2 cats named Archie and Willie who keep me busy removing cat hair from my glue dots! I work full-time as a sales and service agent for an airline company and love to spend my spare time being creative. I’ve always been interested in arts and crafts since I was a young girl. I’ve cross stitched, made candles, lampshades, tole painting and scrapbooking has been my passion for several years.
