Let There Be Projects, Lots & Lots of Projects – by Cathie Allan The past two classes that I have been teaching for Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine incorporate some of my newest and “of course” most favorite techniques … why, because I get to use stamps/stencils and ink, of course and because “they are my newest” and new is always captivating. These techniques are so  “multicraftable” that I have been non stop, creating projects using the ideas that I shared in those classes since I made the originals. A huge part of the joy of sharing new ideas is when someone in the class looks at me with “eyes wide open with inky possibility” as they realize just how beautifully easy stamping and “smearing ink” can be. One treasured moment from this year happened when a young gal came back to me after the class (she was on the crop floor…

T’is the season of reflection – being grateful, being thankful and simply saying THANK YOU! For the next few weeks we will be posting THANK YOU cards featuring products from all our sponsors of the Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnivals this past Sept in Calgary and Edmonton!  We are so grateful and thankful for all they do for everyone in the scrapbooking industry! Today’s card is designed by Connie Nichol and features Close To My Heart and The Ribbon Resource – May Arts Ribbon SUPPLIES: Close To My Heart stamps, ink, cardstock, glitter gems and adhesive, May Arts Ribbon, Brother sewing machine. THANK YOU once again!

Creating Watercolour Effects with Spectrum Aqua markers distributing by Canuck Crafts by Christy Riopel I love this quick layout that I put together. I used Spectrum Aqua Markers and Watercolour Cardstock, Clearsnap SurfaceZ Ink, Magenta stamps and Stencils. Using the Magenta stencil draw lines inside the openings of the stencil. Spray with water and lift off the stencil. This works so well because the Spectrum Aquas are a waterbased marker. I also used the markers on the edges of my photo matte I added these beautiful Magenta flower stamps using a permanent ink like Clearsnap SurfaceZ ink so that I can spray water over the top after I have coloured them in. It’s amazing how a little water can turn these markers into works of art. Have a wonderful Tuesday!

In September, Kelly Klapstein has been Guest Designer over at the Quietfire Design blog.  On Friday she shared her second project, a gorgeous Thanksgiving card. SUPPLIES: Quietfire Design stamps and die; Core’dinations ColorCore Cardstock; FabScraps patterned paper; Clearsnap Ink; Brother ScanNCut; May Arts Ribbon twine. Kelly used a beautiful Quietfire Design stamp set called “To Give Thanks” along with a “Thanks” die.  Click HERE to visit the Quietfire Design blog to learn more about how this card was made. The 3D easel card base and pumpkin were designed using the Brother ScanNCut machine. Here is Kelly’s video tutorial on how she created these with the ScanNCut.

Here is a cute little card Sue Sykes posted on her blog a while back! I love the background technique she created and of course I love that she used products from one of our Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival sponsors Sue used  Spectrum Noir Markers and stamps that are distributed by Canuck Crafts. Thank you so much to Canuck Crafts for all their support through out the years and for once again being one of our We couldn’t do it without you! MUCH LOVE!

Hi everyone – Karen Ellis here! My friend Sheri inspired me to play around with Tombow Markers and white embossing powder this week and I wanted to show you the results …. cause I LOVE it! HAHA Here’s what I used: Tombow Markers – Assorted Colours One of my favourite rubber stamp sets (Catherine Scanlon Designs, Art Gone Wild) Perfect Medium Ink (Ranger Industries) or your favourite embossing ink. White embossing powder Watercolour postcard (Strathmore) or other watercolour paper a waterbrush (not pictured) Heat Gun (not pictured) The first thing to do is emboss a stamped image onto the back of the watercolour postcard with your embossing ink and stamp.   Heat to set and get ready to colour!! The embossing acts as a resist to the ink and water.   Go ahead and colour a portion of your stamp with the markers and then, with a wet brush, drag the ink…
