I LOVE turkey and mashed potatoes as much as the next guy, but the best thing about Thanksgiving is what comes next! Halloween!
I have loved Halloween as long as I can remember! Iβm not sure why, maybe because Iβm an October βbabyβ and many birthday celebrations were shared with Halloween events or maybe itβs the colours of fall and the chill in the airβ¦time for sweaters, candles and candy!
HALLOWEEN DECOR
Of course, when my turn came up for this weekβs Tuesday with the Teamβ¦I knew I would do a Halloween theme! Without further ado, here is the project I worked on! A little Halloween dΓ©cor to creep up a corner in my house!
This diorama was quite easily put together. I had a box from some Christmas cards that I had saved because it was very sturdy and I loved that the cardboard cover had an opening making it looked framed in when I finished! I used a piece of scrapbooking paper from Paper House Productions for the background and I painted the box with some Distress Black Soot paint.
THE SUPPLIES
The magic started when I took some laser cut dies from my Southern RidgeTrading Company collection and embossed them with gorgeous embossing powers from Emerald Creek! Honestly these two companies go together like coffee and cream!
I stamped the quote, βSomething wicked this way comesβ from an older [but ALL TIME FAVOURITE] Quietfire Design stamp set, perfect for Halloween creepiness! The texture and colours of the embossing powder I used make me so happy.
I added some Emerald Creek charms to my spider web, and the skeleton hangs from the top inside with a little piece of black cardstockβ¦giving this Halloween diorama lots of creepy dimension.
Thanks for taking the time to check out my project! Hope you have as much fun with your Halloween dΓ©cor!
