Hello! Kim here with a quick share of my take on last month’s Sketchy Challenge! Kerry designed this neat sketch for October, try as I did…I wasn’t feeling the ‘angle’ for the photos I wanted to work with.
SWITCH IT UP
Instead, I worked with elements of the sketch! I moved, shuffled, altered my papers and pictures until I was happy…sometimes it’s a LONG process! I must say I was quite happy with the finished results.
PRODUCT LOVE!
Simple Stories‘ ‘Vintage Blessings’ collection was such an awesome choice for the photos I was working with. The soft, muted colors of the papers, embellishments and quotes were perfect for the old family photos I was scrapbooking!
Die –hard story tellers, need not fear! After I took the photo of my layout, I did go back and use my Stabilo pens to document the names of those in the photos! I needed to verify some of the information with my dad, so I wasn’t making up new history!
NOVEMBER SKETCHY CHALLENGE.
Kerry Engel has designed another great sketch for November, I can’t wait to put it to work. My brain is already thinking about what I want to do!

That is a gorgeous LO! I love old photos like the ones you used and the papers and embellishments set it off perfectly. Sketches are at their best when we use them as a starting off point, not as a form that must be followed blindly.
It is so important to add the names and details to these photos.
Thanks for sharing your work. Very inspiring! 🙂
Thanks for your kind words! My father has shared many old photos with me…I LOVE them all and look forward to sharing them again!
