Hello, Connie Nichol here this morning with a layout featuring a number of supplies from my local dollar store. This was actually an extra project leftover from my recent article in the spring 2019 issue of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine. As part of the process for creating each of my articles, I spread out all relevant supplies and imagine the possibilities. My brain churns with ideas and I usually end up creating way more projects than there is space to publish. This is a very messy stage and the floor in both my craft room and the adjacent living room are usually covered with little piles of supplies. Ha! Just imagine a landscape of all sorts of dollar store craft items – pipe cleaners, pompoms, stickers, adhesives, gems and so on. One of the items that I really wanted to create something with was a package of mirror stickers from Forever in Time. This is one of the brand names used by Multicraft, an Ontario based company. Each mirror sticker is a 1/4″ square – use them separately, or in groups as I did on the layout. Fiddle with the number and arrangement of the stickers until you end up with something that appeals to you. These tiny mirrors add a pretty cool touch to any craft project.
Once the mirrors are in place, embellish with pompoms, stickers and artificial flowers. I altered the wood veneer butterfly by coating with magenta embossing powder to add a pop of colour. Having all of my supplies laying around me on the floor facilitates easy embellishing and then a lengthy cleanup process. Ha! Happy creating!!
