Chalkboard embellishments are all the rage right now and I love Core-dinations ColorCore cardstocks new Chalk Core Paper for making my own embellishments! I used Core’dinations Color Core cardstock, Spellbinders dies, Clearsnap Izinks, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, Simple Stories stickers, Prima Marketing flowers, Xyron Sticker Makers and Marvy gel pens. I cut out and embossed several shapes from the Chalk Core paper using my dies. To make it easier to sand the very fine cuts I first ran them through my Xyron sticker maker. Leaving the cut out on the backing I then sanded the embossed die cuts making them look like beautiful fine chalk work!! I then added them to my layout over a layer of Clearsnap Izinks. Colour Blocking with Ink Pads – with Cathy Caines Summer has finally arrived on the East Coast of Canada!! Whenever the sun is shining I need to take full advantage so I like quick and simple layouts during the summer months. Typically when I start a scrapbook page, I haul out a 12×12 piece of white cardstock and go from there. Using that as a canvas, I let my imagination take course so that the page and the pictures morph into a piece of art. After playing with mega blocks with my little girl, I thought about how to incorporate it into my scrapbook pages. Using four Stampin’ Up! ink pads, I turned them face down to create a cool background. Arrange them on the paper before opening your ink pads to get your page organized. Hello everyone! Connie Nichol here with more great Frugal ideas! Today I wanted to share a great idea from a scrapbooker in Sweden, Lisa Fitzmaurice Prokupa. Scrapbooking supplies are very very expensive in Sweden, so Lisa is always keeping an eye out for frugal options. While scrapbooking some photos from Hong Kong, she wanted to find an embellishment to capture the effect of bamboo and came up with the idea to use kebab bamboo sticks.
