Did you know we started offering FREE cut files this summer? Sue Sykes designed these fabulous cut files for our readers. They can be cut with many die cutting machines on the market that are able to cut using an SVG or Studio file. I thought we should share them again and encourage you to use them! These fun designs will be great for summer fun and winter getaways! I played with Sue’s third cut file, an inspirational quote that spoke perfect words to my graduating son’s picture. I played with the file a bit to change to word sizes and placement. I believe most programs will let you do this. It took some ungrouping and regrouping of letters, but very doable! I hope you take the time to download these wonderful files, they are yours to download and use for FREE! SUPPLIES: Canadian Scrapbooker Super Stock, Kaisercraft patterned paper,…
Hello from me…Kim Gowdy! I am back into routine after a wonderful holiday with my family. I LOVE time off work, it gives me time to relax and lets the stress leave my body! My shoulders start to loosen and drop, my brain wonders away from work things and I get to reconnect with my family! Another thing that happens is my creative self grows. Sometimes I find my scrapbook layouts reflect daily life…when routine is rigid, my pages are also. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but I really love when I let myself ย be more free. This page I feel is a result of holidays. I just had fun placing embellishments kind of randomly, adding some ink splotches and stitching…I really like the feel! I kept my supplies simple using only patterned paper from one line: Fancy Pants Nautical Collection. A little ribbon from May Artsย Ribbon and…
Happy July 1st everyone!ย Connie Nichol here with a patriotic red and white Canada Day layout.ย I was briefly tempted to use non-traditional colours, but just couldn’t do it.ย LOL I used the July Canadian Scrapbooker sketchy challenge sketch as a starting point.ย It looks like this: I decided to start with a base of Core’Dinations Spotted cardstock.ย It looks so lovely and textured, especially when you sand a tiny bit off of the top. The other day I saw that Rhonda Steed had some free Canada day printables up on her blog (hot link www.rhondasteed.com) and I was totally inspired to use a couple of these project life typecards as part of my layout. Then, instead of reaching for patterned paper strips to follow the July sketch, I decided to use a variety of May Arts ribbon.ย Sometimes ribbon is a pain to adhere to a layout, especially skinny…
Good Monday morning everyone! Connie Nichol here with a blog post featuring Sizzix Elegant Flourishes Bigz die, DCWV Coral Couture Paper Stack, Clearsnap Ink and Embossing Powder I am slowly scanning my dadโs 35 mm slides from my childhood, wanting to scrapbook them while I can still remember some of the details, or at least verify them with my parents.ย The colours and patterns seem to go perfectly with my pictures from the 1970โs and I love that there is a matching cardstock stack. I find the DCWV paper to be so gorgeous that it pretty much stands alone without much embellishment.ย So, I left the layout very simple, just adding a bit of fussy cutting and some metallic chipboard flourishes. The flourishes were just the perfect touch for this patterned paper.ย I used the Elegant Flourishes die to die cut some Grafix Chipboard.ย Since it is a Sizzix Bigz…
Hi Everyone! ย It’s Kelly Klapstein here to share with you some fun ways to use the Brotherโข ScanNCut when designing your scrapbook layout. SUPPLIES: Brother ScanNCut, Bo Bunny patterned paper, Core’dinations ColorCore cardstock, Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L E-Z Runner and 3D Foam Hearts, Clearsnap red glitter. Here is my take on May Sketchy Challenge. ย Aren’t these Bo Bunny papers adorable? ย This collection is called “Happy Tails”. ย When I saw them I knew I had to make a scrapbook layout of our new puppy Finnigan! To create that background of red hearts, I designed a stencil with my Brotherโข ScanNCut machine. I also designed the “Puppy Love” title with the ScanNCutย and Core’dinations Colorcore Cardstock. If you’d like to watch another video that shows how I created the stencil heart background, click HERE to visit my blog. ย On my blog I also have the free cutting file of this…
Think Spring! Featuring BoBunny Woodland Winter and Quietfire Design Stamps In my part of Canada, we have plenty of winter, and plenty of snow,ย but usually the only time of year when the snow is melty enough to stick together and build a snowmanย is spring.ย Itโs too bad, really, because that also usually means that the snowman will not stick around for long.ย The higher sun angle and warmer temperatures during this time of year typically result in his rapid disappearance into a large puddle of icy water. The snowman building process is still fun though, especially if you use delicious cookies for eyes and buttons.ย I found a couple of photos from when my boys were little that brought back these memories.ย I was inspired to scrapbook them with the April sketch from the Canadian Scrapbooker sketchy challenge and some stunning papers and embellishments from BoBunny.…
Sizzix Frameworks Lattice Die Also featuring Garden Tool Sizzlits, Lil Monstersย by Bo Bunny and Xyron Have you seen the new Frameworks dies from Sizzix?ย ย Designed by Tim Holtz, they were just released last month in five fabulous patterns.ย I am especially excited that they are the thick steel rule dies, meaning that in addition to cutting through paper, ย they can also easily cut through all fabric, foam, felt, wood veneer and other non-paper items, giving the frugal or mixed media scrapbooker lots of flexibility! ย ย And you can use the framework die cut itself, or the pieces cut out of the framework die (like the diamonds or hexagons) to mix and match. The Lattice Frameworks remindedย of gardening, so I thought I would combine it with the Garden Tools Sizzlits that I had in my stash. I cut the tools out of a scrap piece of cardstock and then used…
I treat myself every month to a monthly kit from Scrap Shotz, an online store based in Calgary, Alberta.ย The kits are great value and areย just loaded with all sorts of scrapbook goodies – patterned paper, cardstock, embellishments – lots of fun stuff that I might not necessarily purchase myself, but always goes together beautifully and is really fun to try.ย It totally makes my day when the Scrapshotz box arrives in my super mail.ย The kits are perfect for taking to a crop – they include everything you need except for adhesive! A kit from last fall featured Jillibean Soup’s Cold Avocado Soup line – patterned paper, sticker and die cut sheets, flash cards – along with plenty of other great supplies such as bling, Stickles and WeR Memory Keepers chevron washi tape.ย The colours , rich blue, yellow and teal, in the Avocado Soup line are just…
