Here is my take on our October Sketch featuring Magenta, Clearsnap, Sakura and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L. I was totally inspired by my beautiful friend Christy Riopel, who passed away on August 21. As I created this layout using her techniques and tips and tricks – I found a little bit of healing. Through the tears many many many wonderful memories emerged – thank you Christy for so much. I miss you like crazy. I’ve been involved in doing something to raise awareness for the past 10 years, I’m really excited to be here with you and broaden the scope! I’m so lucky my mom has survived her fight and we have her with us! I also need to check myself again this month because on my last mammogram the radiologist detected something she wants to closely monitor because of my family history. Hello everyone – Tracy McLennon here – the newest member of the Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine Design Team! I know it’s not often that someone would come across a violin that they could make pretty. But I will admit that is one of the perks of having a band/music teacher husband that has other music teacher friends. It came up in conversation one night about how sometimes you collect broken and unusable instruments, instead of throwing them away. Then, there was mention of this 3/4 size violin, unusable and ready for the garbage. I put a stop to that! I love to decorate for the holidays! My style is very classic, greens, reds and golds. So I knew what direction I would go with this piece. I started with a light sanding all over, so that the paint would cover a little easier. It took about 3 coats of the cream…
